Chapter 34: B̵̮͐͗e̵̮̅͒͑ ̵̝̐͂ͅm̴͕̖̅̌ẙ̴̠ ̷̭͆̇Hǫ̷́̆̈́s̶͎͙̭̈́t̵̬̂͑

-POV-

I woke up, my entire body was hurting. I looked around and saw nothing, everywhere around me is all empty space. I decided to help myself up, I walk around for a while and realised this place seemed... Endless.

"Where... Am I?"

I raised my left paw to scratch my head, wondering what happened before I found myself here. I remembered what happened before I passed out.

"Yuni... I hope everyone's okay."

I stopped scratching my head and realised my left arm was pitch black. I touched it and I felt burning, but it felt cold at the same time.

"What... Happened to me?"

While I was thinking, I saw a shadow move from my side. I looked behind me and saw nothing. I shrug it off thinking it was just nothing, until I heard a voice.

"V̶o̷x̷l̵e̴..."

It sounded like distorted whispers and echoes. I turned around and saw a dark figure standing behind me.

"Who are you? And why am I here! "

I brought my fists up and got into a fighting stance. It sounded like it was laughing and proceeds to walk closer.

"I̴t̶'̴s̸ ̵c̸u̵t̸e̶ ̸h̵o̷w̵ ̶f̶o̷o̷l̸i̷s̴h̴ ̵y̶o̶u̴ ̴a̵r̶e̸..."

I back away but my arm starts hurting again. I look back at the figure but it's gone. I turned around and got surprised when it was right next to me, making me lose my balance and fall down.

"Answer my question!"

Now that it's closer I can clearly see what it looked like. It looked like... Me. But a shadow.

"N̵o̴w̸ ̸t̸e̷l̶l̸ ̵m̷e̴.̶ ̸A̴r̷e̴ ̵y̸o̴u̵ ̵a̸w̵a̵k̷e̸?̸"

I looked around me, the place was still empty and seemingly endless. And then I looked at my arm again.

"Am I awake?"

It gets on its knees in front of me, I noticed that it has a glowing red mouth. It started to look less like me. I figured that if I just run away I'll get tried eventually and it would be pointless anyway since this... Place is endless.

"Just... What do you want from me?"

It violently puts its hand on my left arm, causing it to hurt. The pain started to feel like tingling the longer they held my arm. It looks at me... Or atleast I think it is since it had no eyes present.

"I̴ ̴w̷a̸n̴t̴ ̴y̴o̸u̷ ̷t̴o̸ ̵f̷r̴e̴e̸ ̸m̶e̶.̶ ̸F̷r̸e̶e̴ ̴m̷e̷ ̵f̷r̸o̸m̴ ̴t̸h̴i̴s̶ ̸p̶r̷i̶s̸o̶n̴ ̸I̶ ̸w̶a̴s̷ ̶t̷r̶a̴p̵p̴e̷d̷ ̸i̸n̷ ̴f̴o̴r̵ ̸e̶o̶n̸s̵ ̶a̷n̴d̶ ̷m̶o̴r̷e̶ ̷t̴o̸ ̴c̶o̷m̶e̴.̷ ̷"

"And why should I?"

"I̶'̴l̶l̷ ̷w̸a̸k̵e̵ ̶y̵o̷u̵ ̴u̷p̵ ̵i̵f̷ ̴y̴o̵u̴ ̶a̸g̸r̸e̵e̸.̵ ̵I̵f̶ ̸y̶o̷u̸ ̷d̶o̵n̵'̴t̷,̵ ̷I̶'̸l̷l̴ ̷k̵i̴l̶l̸ ̴y̴o̴u̴ ̴a̶n̵d̷ ̶d̸o̷ ̶i̶t̶ ̴m̴y̸s̶e̶l̵f̸.̴ ̴M̷a̸y̶b̸e̷ ̷e̴v̸e̴n̵ ̷k̵i̷l̴l̶ ̷e̸v̶e̶r̷y̸o̶n̸e̵ ̷y̷o̶u̴ ̵l̴o̷v̸e̷.̵"

"Okay then... So how do I free you?"

It smiles, letting go of my arm as the tingling feeling finally stops.

"S̴h̵a̵t̴t̷e̸r̶ ̶t̶h̸e̵ ̴c̴r̵y̷s̶t̵a̵l̸.̶"

I thought about it for a while. If I refused my life could just end here leaving Xero unsupervised and the universe at risk. But at the same time this... Thing might be a threat. Guess I'll just have to find out...
