"No!" you screamed, your heart pounding through your chest as you rose up from your bed.

Your head felt woozy, as you pulled the covers off your body swinging your legs to the side of the bed. It was the same dream, the one you had been having for the past few months.

Only this time you could almost make out the strange figure. Yet every time it would get closer something would pull you away.

Now you wish you hadn't fallen asleep.

The truth was your main concern. You had been lost deep in your thoughts since the whole ordeal back home.

Even on the ride back you hadn't spoken much to your friends. You were back at the academy and you felt like you were once again ten steps backwards. The journals were gone... but you did have one new piece of information.

Hyogoku.

The cases both your grandmother and father worked on before their deaths. You would start there, it was your only lead so far.

You looked at the clock and noticed it was almost seven o'clock. The brightly lit room seemed distant and vague as you rose up from the bed.

"You're actually awake?" Soi-Fon said, leaning on the door frame. "Hmph, guess my training is paying off."

You ignored her and gather your uniform, even if you had things to figure out, you still had classes.

"Good morning {NAME}," Byakuya greeted you as you enter the classroom.

As always, he was there bright and early, with a book.

"Hey Byakuya...," you replied more dryly than you realize, taking your seat.

He rose an eyebrow. "Are you still in pain from the attack?"

For a second, you thought he was talking about those strange arrancar that had attacked you and your friends. But than you remember no one besides the others knew of that attack.

Your friends had promise not to mention the attack back home, for now they thought it would be safe to keep quiet.

Never know who had eyes and ears around the academy.

"I'm fine," you said quickly. "Just tired."

His face expression remained the same as he looked at you seemly in deep thought.

"{NAME}, If you ever need anything do not hesitate to ask."

By the look in his eyes you could tell he was serious--not that he wasn't never serious. Actually, out of all the people you know, he was was the most serious. Byakuya was never upfront with feelings, so him being so blunt caught you off guard.

You gave him the biggest smile you could manage.

"Thanks Byakuya," you nodded. "I'll remember that."

It was good to have friends.

Case number 6956.

Your day had past in a blur, all you could think about was the case. The case your father and grandmother worked on before their deaths.

You learned that the Soul Society kept a record of all their cases in the buliding known as the CFC (Centered Filling & Communication). You knew your best shot was to start there, but you couldn't just walk-in through the front door.
