A Twisted Halloween: Terror is Trending

Chapter 9: This Year's Halloween

The Magicam Monsters become so scared that they run out of the Alchemy Workshop screaming.

The first man screams, "You just HAD to use the selfie stick! Why couldn't you follow the rules like everyone else?!"

"Please, don't turn us into mummies! Forgive us!" The second man screams.

The two men continue to run away screaming and tripping and stumbling over the bandages that are still wrapped around his body.

Jade chuckles, "Heh heh heh... Observe that they flee in a blind panic, tripping over the bandages we wound around their bodies. What a sight to behold. Shall I take a picture to memorialize it?"

"It's best not to. We don't want the headmage and the staff to figure out what we did," Tanzanite says.

"Jade..." Azul replies, turning to Jade, "What was that command to dance? That was not part of our plan!"

"Yeah. What was that about?" Taznantie asks, confused.

Jade explains, "It's called 'ad-libbing' my dear Azul, and dear Tanzanite. I deemed that they needed a bit more convincing to truly believe I was a ghost. Don't you think it was a fine way to seal the deal? They were eating out of my hand."

Azul frowns and says, "You were doing it for kicks and you know it."

Then one of the students says, "Housewarden! Vice Housewarden! You pulled it off."

"Operation Mummified Merman's Curse was a resounding success!" The second student says.

"We couldn't have done it without you all. The timing of the blackout, disappearance, and sending those bandages out with magic..." Jade says. And smiles, "It was flawless."

"Aha ha! They were cowering like a couple'a hermit crabs. Talk about lame!" Floyd says, "'Forgive us,' they wailed. Hah! Shoulda just followed the rules. I kinda wanted to chase 'em around some. How about we switched roles next time, Jade?"

"I've no objections. You can have my spot if the need arises again," Jade says.

Then Jade turns to Tanzanite, "And thank you for assisting us with our little plan."

"Um, you're welcome. I do feel back that we had to use magic on them. Even if they deserve it," Tanzanite says.

"Don't worry, little catfish. It's what they get for giving us problems," Floyd says.

"Um okay," Tanzanite replies.

Then Jade says, "Ahhh... This year's Halloween is going to be positively delightful. I can tell already. I can only hope the Magicam Monsters enjoy it as well."

"Oh, no need to worry on that count. I'm sure they'll remember this Halloween for the rest of their lives," Azul says.

"Heh heh..." Jade chuckles, "As long as we GIVE them something to remember."

Then Jade and Azul shout, "Happy Halloween!"

Tanzanite and the others shout, "Happy Halloween!"

Now the Alchemy Workshop is free of the Magicam Monsters, and four more venues are left to have their own problems chased out.
