Chapter 12: Happy Halloween!

After Malleus leaves, Briar hears Deuce's voice, "Hey, Briar! Where are you?"

Briar turns her head and hears Deuce calling out, "We found Grim!"

"Okay, I'm coming over!" Briar calls out.

Briar then runs off from Ramshackle Dorm and to Main street where the party is. Soon, she meets up with Decue.

"Ah, Briar, there you are," Deuce says. "Jade and Vil caught Grim for us."

Briar turns to see Vil and Jade both and Grim is with them.

"I looked away for a matter of seconds, and Grim ate all the carpaccio on my plate," Jade says.

Vil sternly glares at Grim, "We have an embarrassment of culinary riches here. Why would you go out of your way to take something off of someone else's plate?"

"What can I say? Food's way more appetizing when it's someone else's," Grim says with a smirk on his face.

Briar facepalms for forehead, "That is so uncool, Grim."

"That's right. Are you trying to get yourself into trouble?" Tanzanite says.

"This is a level beyond shameless. Your manners are appalling," Vil says.

Then turns to Briar, "Briar, this is YOUR responsibility."

"I know. I turned my back for one second and Grim rams off to cause trouble," Briar says.

"Yeah. It's not our fault Grim always runs off," Jasper says.

Then Jade says with a sinister grin, "Someone's been a bad boy. Since I can't have my carpaccio now, maybe I should have you instead?"

"Hah!" Grim says in remark, "It'll take more than a little bluff to scare me. That's what you get for not watchin' your food."

Then says with a smile, "Myah hah! That Trick or Treat spell's gotten me enough candy to last me a whole month, too. Maaan, I don't want today to be over!"

Just then, Cater walks over with the Ramshackle Ghosts.

Cater calls out, "Oh, hey, Grimmy, Heya. peeps. I was looking for you!"

"Hello, Cater. I see you have the ghosts with you," Jade says.

Then asks, "What can we do for you all?"

"Well, the ghosties had an idea," Cater happily says.

"Oh?" Everyone replies, confused.

Patrick starts, "Well... Y'see..."

Then John says, "We've been ghosts for a good while, but we've never had a Halloween as good as this one before."

"We wanna capture this moment so that we can remember it for a looong, long time. We were talking to Mr. Magicam here about it, you see," Patrick says.

"We'll keep showing up in pictures until Halloween's over, right?" Albert replies. "So y'know... We thought maybe we could take a group picture with you folks and post it online if you're okay with it, of course.

Everyone remains silent.

"I uh... I guess that's askin' a bit much, huh?" Patrick asks.

"Yeah, makes sense. Considering all the hubbub this week, I'm sure everyone's patience is exhausted," Albert replies.

Just then, Jade says, "Silly ghost. Of course it's okay. Did you even have to ask?"

"I'll give you a perfect Halloween pose. Consider it a holiday favor.

The ghosts are surprised and yet, pleased.

"Wow, really? You'd do that for us?!" Patrick asks.

"Heh heh! Don't worry. If any more monsters show up... I'll shoo off the whole lot of 'em myself!" Grim happily says.

"Oh, I'm sure that you're dependable," Jasper says.

"Well, I'm sure the upperclassmen will be able to do the same," Tanzanite says.

Trinket nods their head in reply.

The ghosts are moved, "You guys... THANK YOU!"

"Let's get that picture taken, shall we?" Vil replies. "The Halloween party has only just begun. I'll have plenty more rounds to make with the guests after this."

"Right, of course," Albert replies.

Then says, "Let's all huddle up nice and close!"

"Wouldn't the ghosts block us from the shot?" Jade questions.

"Don't worry, they're transparent!" Cater says.

"I think that might be missing the point..." Vil replies.

Briar giggles and says, "Come on guys, let's get into the picture."

"Hey Briar! Hold me up so I'm front and center!" Grim says.

"Me too!" Sereia says.

"Sure," Briar says, and picks up Sereia and Grim. Trinket then sits on Briar's head.

Soon, everyone huddles together for the picture.

John says, "Everybody ready? Smile for the camera!"

"Okay, on my cue!" Patrick says.

Everyone cheers, "Happy Halloween!"

And the picture has been taken with the Ramshackle Dorm and roommates.

Despite all the hitches, this ends up being the best Halloween at Night Raven College.
