Just then, the group notices a click and a flash.

Everyone reacts, "Hm?"

And turn to see the Ramshackle Dorm ghosts have their smartphones and take pictures of the dorm and its decorations.

Albert says, "That's some good composition right there. It really brings out the long's majesty.

Then John asks, "how about for our next shot, we go for a low angle that gets all of Ramshackle Dorm in the frame?"

"D-do my mighty eyes deceive me? Because I could have sworn you guys are holding smartphones!" Grim asks, shocked.

"Ooh, you caught that, huh?" Albert questions.

Patrick chuckles, "Hee hee heeee. We were so excited for Halloween this year... we all bought ourselves the latest models!"

"When did you all get smartphones?" Jasper asks.

"How do ghosts sign up for phone plans?!" Grim asks in shock.

"Oh, it's easy to enroll online these days," Patrick says.

"We got the headmage to be our cosigner and put the campus address. Ba-bam! Instant approval." Albert adds.

Grim crosses his arms and growls in frustration, "Rrrgh... here I've gotta share one with Briar and Sereia, and you guys all get phones of your own? Well, la-dee-dah!"

"Heh he he," Patrick snickers, "We're all independent adults! Shame that anyone we would've called won't ever answer now."

Soon, everyone begins laughing, "Wah hah hah hah!"

Except Briar and the others.

Then Lilia says, "Ah, there's that classic gallows humor. Just remember there's much and more smartphones can do besides simply making calls."

"Yeah! That's why we got a Magicam, so we could get an even better Halloween experience," Albert says. "Too bad I've only got five followers: These guys and a few of my ghost buds."

Then John says, "But hey, it's a nice way to preserve some memories, right?"

"Speaking of which..." Patrick says, and turns to Grim, "Hey Grimmy. Look this way, will ya?"

"Huh?" Grim replies confused, turning to the ghosts.

Before Grim can react, John and Patrick gather together between him, and their picture is taken by Patrick.

Patrick chuckles, "Hee hee hee. A commemorative group photo! Grimmy and the boys!"

"Bah. Not like ghosts show up in pictures anyway," Grim replies with a smirk.

Briar looks at the phone, "I don't know Grim, you might need to look at this."

Grim looks at the phone screen and is beyond shocked, "Wait, what?! You're right there, clear as day!"

The others look to see the ghost are clear in the photos.

"You're right," Jasper says.

"Amazing," Tanzanite replies.

Grim quickly asks, "I thought you could only take pictures of ghosts with one of those ghost cameras Briar got!"

"Well, Halloween's coming up," Patrick says.

Then Lilia says, "Ah, that would explain why you bought a phone so close to the holiday."

"How does that explain anything?" Grim asks.

"They say Halloween is the time of year when our world and the hereafter are closest in alignment. It only makes sense that ghosts can show up in pictures at the time of year that represent the height of their power," Lilia explains.

"That's actually kind of cool," Briar says.

"Sounds awesome," Jasper says.

Lilia smiles and says, "But as I mentioned before, that probably only applies within the bounds of Night Raven College itself."

Just then, Patrick giggles, "Hee hee hee. Check out how cool we are! Hashtag #ScaryShiny!" Then shows the phone to the others, "Am I doing it right?"

Albert and John look at the photo.

Albert says, "Grimmy's fur looks nice and glossy, too. This is a perfect Halloween shot."

John chuckles, "Hoh hoh hoh. Even the background is perfect."

"Now, what to tag this with..." Patrick wonders, looking at the smartphone screen, "'Happy Halloween from the boys at the dorm Hashtag #NRCHalloween.'"

Then types on the phone, as he says, "Caption added, and... posted to Magicam!"

"If you're usin' me' for your photos, you oughta pay me in tuna for modeling!" Grim says.

"Stop thinking with your stomach," Briar sternly says.

Then Albert says, "Now, don't be a spoilsport. This time of year's all about having fun."

"The whole school is getting decorated for the season, you know," Lilia says.

Then Lilia says to Briar, "Briar, you and your friends should enjoy the festivities."

"Happy Halloween! Hee hee hee!" Patrick says and lets out a snicker.
