Chapter 21: A Treasured Passed

Soon, the Magicam Monsters are scared out of their minds.

The woman screams, "I don't wanna be roasted alive! I don't WANNA be a long's dinner!"

Then the man screams, "I'll never ignore a 'Do Not Enter' sign ever again, I swear!"

Then they screams, "We're sooorryyyyy!"

And with that, they run away in fear.

Seeing them gone, Malleus smirks, "That was easier than taking candy from an infant."

Just then, the students, including Sebek and Silver arrive.

Sebek calls out, "SIR!" and expresses his surprise, "I can't believe you came and handled this yourself. Did I do something wrong to necessitate this?!"

"The humans have already fled," Malleus says. "Heh... You should have seen the pitiful looks on their faces."

Sebek is impressed, "You truly sent those irksome monsters fleeing for the hills in no time. Incredible!"

"I'm just glad the plan went off without a hitch," Silver says.

All the students cheer and glad to see the Magicam Monsters have fled.

'"The plan,' you say," Lilia replies.

Then turns to Malleus, "The plan in which I scare the Magicam Monsters entering Ramshackle Dorm, Silver, and Sebek cut off their main point of egress... and once they make it outside via the only route we permit them, you use magic to animate the long in our exhibit? THAT plan?" and looks questionable.

"Yes," Malleus says.

Lilia grins, "Malleus, were you so bothered by the Magicam Monsters that you deemed it necessary to scare them in person instead?"

Malleus admits, "I was originally considering reverting to my true form and swallowing them... but after how frightened a little fire made them, I decided to take pity on them and let them go."

Lilia snickers, "Khee hee hee! I never knew you were such a fan of surprises."

"Allow me to thank you all for guiding them directly for me," Malleus replies, "Seeing them cry when just the catharsis I needed. You've done well today."

The students say, "Thank you, sir! We hardly deserve such praise."

"That should pave the way for a properly enjoyable Halloween," Lilia says. "Oh, yes - perhaps we could take a little celebratory photo on our own. I'll use my phone."

Lilia brings out his phone and says, "Malleus, Silver, Sebek. Stand together and give me a big smile! Say cheese!

Malleus, Silver, and Sebek join together and Lilia takes a photo of them.

Lilia looks at the photo, "Mhm, mhm. That came out nicely."

"Thank you, sir! I will build an altar at my family's home and place this picture on it! This photo is worthy of being a treasure passed down through the Zigvolt family for generations!" Sebek says, very pleased.

Then smiles, "Actually, Lilia, we should get a picture of you and Malleus as well! Allow me to take it."

"Great idea. Let's get one of both of you together in costume," Silver says.

"Well, if you're offering, then by all means!" Lilia happily says.

"It's been quite a while since we've taken a picture together, hasn't it?" Malleus replies.

"Perhaps so. Say, have you ever considered starting a Magicam account of your own? If you did, we'd have many more occasions to take pictures," Lilia replies.

Malleus crosses his arms and says, "I'm not interested. I have no desire to place myself at the whims of humans' idle curiosity."

"Hm? Lilai notices, "Malleus, your hat's a bit crooked. Let me fix that for you."

But Malleus says, "I can fix it myself."

And with that, Malleus adjusts his hat on his own as he says, "And for the record, I'm no longer a child, Lilia."

"Ah, pardon me. Old habits wither hard," Lilia says.

"Ready? Here's the cue..." Sebek says.

Then Silver and Sebek cheer, "Happy Halloween!"

And Malleus and Lilia cheer, "Happy Halloween!"
