~A/N~

Just like a few chapters ago, I will be skipping the fighting scenes and altering what you remember happening in the movie.

I hope you enjoy the chapter.

All the Love.

There isn't a clear plan for stopping Loki and saving New York, and the world. But the team managed to work together in order to keep people safe and kill as many chitauri as they could.

Thor knew that he had to find his brother. He could reach him through whatever magic had a hold on his mind, he just knew he could.

With all of the fighting going on around him, Thor leaves the fight and flies up toward the top of Stark tower. As he gets close to the very top he spots Loki standing out on the balcony.

Thor lands as softly as he can, as far as he can from Loki, and thinks about his approach to him. He starts to think about when they were younger when they would play near the balcony that overseen the garden. Their mother had always told them not to play near it in case one of them accidentally fell. However, they never listened.

Thor chuckles lightly to himself, forgetting where he was for a moment, and alerts Loki.

"Come to stop me, brother?" Loki walks towards Thor with his scepter in his hand.

Thor drops Mjolnir next to him as he simply says; "I have come to take you home like I have been telling you."

"I don't have a home Thor, so I am making a new one." Loki lifts his arms motioning to the chaos going on around him.

"Come to your senses and come back to Asgard."

Loki lowers his arms and gives Thor a look of irritation. "Why do you only listen when you want to?"

"I'm not going to listen to your nonsense," Thor takes a few steps toward Loki, "especially when it's not you talking."

"This is me, brother, you are just going to have to accept it!"

"I won't!" Mjolnir levitates to Thor's hand.

Loki yells out in anger and rushes toward his brother. When Loki gets close enough to Thor to make contact, he tries. Thor is forced to defend himself but never throws a shot at Loki.

Their one-way fight continues until Thor is on the edge of the balcony with one of his hands on Loki's scepter and the other holding Mjolnir which is keeping the blade of the scepter from cutting him.

The memory of them playing on the balcony as children comes back to him. They had gotten into a fight over their Asgardian Voyagers card game they were playing and Loki had stepped back too far and had slipped off the edge. Loki had grabbed onto the edge just in time to keep himself from falling and Thor had rushed over to pull Loki up. They struggled for a while before one of the royal guards heard them yelling for help and came and pulled Loki back onto the balcony.

As the memory fades, Thor pushes Loki back to where Loki falls onto his butt. Thor drops Mjolnir once again as he says, "Do you remember when you accidentally fell off of the balcony overviewing the garden?"

Loki gives him a confused look. "When we were kids?" Loki stands up. "You pushed me."

"No, I didn't, we had a small fight and you stepped back too far and fell." Thor crosses his arms, "I helped you back up-"

"No, no, you left me there." Loki's voice cracks a little. "I yelled for what felt like forever until a royal guard came to help me."

"I was there Loki, I was helping hold you up as we yelled for help. You clung to me after the guard pulled you back up-"

"No, I didn't!" Loki yelled in annoyance.

Thor thinks about it for a minute. Then it clicked. "Someone changed your memories." Loki gives him a wide-eyed look. "That's why it felt like my mind was on fire when I felt you calling out."

"You don't know-"

"That's why you're not yourself." Thor takes a step toward Loki, and Loki takes one back, "Let me take you home, Mother can help you."

"No," a small shock spreads through Loki's mind, "this is me and I don't need your help."

"Loki, please." Loki turns motionless at the sound of Thor's words. "I need you. Life on Asgard has been terrible without you. Mother is barely out of her room. I have thrown myself in multiple battles throughout Asgard's reaches. I miss you, Loki."

"Thor, I-" Loki falls to the ground and holds his head in pain.

Thor rushes to him. "Loki," he says in a caring voice.

'Get away from him!' Thanos' voice yells through Loki's mind. 'Move, boy!' More shocks are sent through his mind, so Loki listens.

"I'm sorry, Thor." Loki whispers through his agonizing pain. Then rolls off of the balcony and lands on one of the chitauri's flyers. As soon as Loki's body hits the flyer's floor, his mind is empty with just thoughts of what needs to be done.

Thor sits on the balcony for a moment, flabbergasted. 'I got through to him,' Thor calls Mjolnir back to him as he stands, 'and then I lost him again.' Then he drops from the balcony and back into the ongoing battle.
