Fleeting Moments

Thor watches as Loki's eyes glimmer as the memory forms back together in his mind. Just like on the balcony of Stark Tower, Thor can see Loki's eye color change just slightly as the pieces fall into place.

When Loki's attention finally turns back to Thor, his cheeks turn red. "How did you know where Fandral and I went?" Loki fiddles with his hands, "When we left you were drinking ale and flirting with Sif."

"I have never flirted with Sif." Thor almost yelled, as his eyes of admiration turn to a glare. But as soon as Thor sees the contorted look on Loki's face, his gaze eases. "Sif has never been one that I have wanted."

Loki rolls his eyes, "Oh, right," Loki huffs, "the Midgard girl."

Thor goes silent as his gaze cascades away from Loki. Jane was someone that meant something to him, but in truth he knows that what he felt for her was not love. "Jane was a mistake." Thor breathes, "And I knew where you and Fandral went because this is where he takes all of his conquests."

"What-"

Thor quickly shushes Loki, as he hears echoes from down the tunnel. "Odin says for us to search the servant tunnels."

Thor quickly grabs Loki's arm, "We have to go."

They run down the remainder of the tunnel and stop at the end, scoping out the area before leaving the tunnel. Only a couple paces away is one of the Skiffs that the servants of the palace are allowed to use. Thor looks around the area and finds that there is no one to be seen. As they skulk out of the tunnel and towards the Skiff a group of servants come out of an adjacent tunnel.

Most of the servants look stunned, few with gaping mouths. While others look ready to bolt back into the tunnel they came from. 'Who knows what whispers they've heard.' Thor thinks as he raises his hands to seem peaceful. However, Loki has the opposite approach. Loki takes quick steps to Thor, basically tackling him, then *poof* their on the Skiff.

The servants just watch at Loki grabs the controls to the Skiff and quickly leads it away from the servants. Thor quickly stands up, feeling as though he could be sick, then waves at the servants as Loki steers. As they get further away from the dock the soldiers that were searching the tunnel come out and run to the edge, watching as the princes float away on the Skiff.

The successful stealing of the Skiff was only a small victory when it comes to them escaping from Asgard, however. There are also the Asgardian Cannons that sit on the Asgard's boarders, they shoot an almost golden beam in segments of threes towards any targeted object. Neither of the princes have had these cannons fixed on them, but now they are.

Loki steer in an almost zigzagging manor in order to avoid the shots of the two cannons fixed on their Skiff. Thor holds onto the side of the Skiff trying to keep his balance while Loki avoids the beams. When a shot finally gets too close for comfort Loki yells, "Can't you destroy those?"

Thor looks at Loki almost in disbelief, then says, "If I destroy those Asgard will be defenseless if an enemy flier attacks."

Loki growls in response and then makes the Skiff dive to be just above the waters of Asgard. Loki steers the Skiff to drive underneath the Crystal Bridge that leads to the Bifrost, but close enough to the right side that the cannon on the left can't see the Skiff. Loki waits to hear the first shot from the cannon to sound and then he turns the Skiff to go the left side of the bridge.

"It's going to shoot the bridge!" Thor hollers at Loki as he continues to grip the side of the Skiff.

"I know." Loki hollers back as the straightens the Skiff to be directly underneath the bridge.

Thor move his way to Loki. "If it shoots the bridge it'll land right on top of us."

"We'll make it Thor," Loki twists the throttle on the Skiff's controls, "trust me."

Thor looks at the smirk on Loki's face. He has seen that smirk numerous times, mostly in battles, but still the same smirk. Whenever he came up with a plan that he knew would work, Loki would have that smirk on his face. Thor grabs back on the side of the Skiff and says, "I trust you."

Right after, the shots from the cannon hits the Crystal Bridge. Thor watches at the bridge crumbles behind them, chunk by chunk falling in the water making waves that push them even faster towards the edge. Loki swerves the Skiff as the Bifrost starts to fall off the edge and then angles the Skiff towards where it fell.

Thor knows what Loki is planning. The Bifrost, a means of transportation from realm to realm, makes a black hole when it is severed from Asgard's power supply. But, the black hole made from a Bifrost is very curious, you go in thinking about where you want to spit out and there's a fifty-fifty chance you may end up there. But, you don't know if it will, you could just end up on a random planet or on a trash giant. However, in this moment all Thor can think about is how the last time one of these opened he lost Loki, he doesn't want that to happen again.

As the Skiff starts to fall off the edge Thor stares over at Loki, only to find Loki already peering over at him. Him falling was one of the things that the titan did not alter in his memory. Loki remembers the pleading look in Thor's eyes, that part was unchanged.

"Loki," Thor yells as they fall into the black hole, "I l-"

*whoosh*
