Loki follows Frigga up the tower stairs, but he looks back every couple of steps to see if Thor is behind him. It's not until the final step that Loki finally realizes that Thor isn't going to be by his side.
"Come sit, Loki." Frigga says as she sits down on a pillow on the floor with one right across from her for Loki.
Without any hesitation, Loki walks towards his mother and then sits on the pillow. This is exactly how they used to sit when she taught him telepathy. Frigga holds her hand out to him, expecting him to take them, but Loki hesitates.
"Are you sure about this?" He watches Frigga lower her hands a little. "We don't know if this will really help and I-" Memories play through his head making him wince.
"I need you to trust me, my son." She lifts her hands to him again. "Trust me and let me help you."
"I'm not your son," he is drawn into a memory, "I will never trust you after the lies you've told me." Loki moves to stand up but Frigga quickly grabs onto him. With her mind open the link between them is made.
. . .
Thor has begun to pace back and forth in front of the stairs to the Healing Tower. He doesn't know whether to climb the stairs or leave Loki to go through this next part by himself.
Thor starts to feel a tightness in his chest and pain along his side where the frostbite once was. He sits back on the stairs and tries to steady his breathing.
"Son?" Thor looks up with partly foggy vision and sees the outline of the AllFather.
Thor takes a deep breath and tries to realign himself as he says; "Hello, Father."
"Why are you sitting on the stairs?" Odin asks as he crosses his arms making his robe lift off the floor just slightly. "I thought you were looking after Loki?"
Thor stands from the steps as he starts to explain, "Mother has Loki up the tower," he slightly motions behind him, but quickly moves his arms back to his side when he feels a shock of pain, "she is trying to heal his mind."
"His mind?" The AllFather takes a step closer to Thor. "What is wrong with his mind?"
"His memories," another shock of pain comes up from Thor's side, he keeps himself from wincing the best he can, "they are not all true."
Odin goes to say something, but he notices Thor wincing even as little as it is. Thor tries to hide the persisting pain the best he can, however, when his father moves closer to him he knows that he did not hide it well enough.
Just by getting a couple of steps closer to his son, Odin can sense the not fully healed frostbite. Within seconds Odin's once concern for Loki has vanished. "Did Loki do that to you?"
"What-"
"Don't play stupid with me, boy!" Odin's anger spills out of him, tired of how Thor has always lied for Loki. "Was that frostbite caused by Loki?"
Thor opens his mouth to answer, but nothing comes out. Instead, he falls forward into the Allfather's arms shivering. Without any hesitation or concern for himself, the Allfather puts Thor over his shoulder and carries him up the stairs of the tower.
. . .
Frigga has gone through four memories with Loki, some only needing minor fixes while other have taken more time. She opens her eyes once more, but this time she feels herself sway. Gravity feels too heavy and she falls to the side.
Loki quickly beams himself to catch Frigga. "I've got you, Mother." He smiles down at her, and she lightly smiles up at him.
After a second of rest, with most of her weight on Loki and her head on his shoulder, Frigga slowly sits back up. Though even with her regaining her strength, Loki continues to support his mother with his hands gently holding her shoulders.
His mind feels so clear while he is with her. He knows that it is from her fixing his memories about her, but he knows it is how he has always felt. Only that sense of safety and love leaves Loki fairly quickly as he hear the AllFather's voice.
"Get away from her!" The AllFather yells startling both Frigga and Loki.
Fear seems to overtake Loki as he jumps up and swiftly moves across the room away from Frigga. The fear only intensifies when he sees Thor's shivering body hanging over the AllFather's shoulder.
The AllFather quickly moves into the room and lays Thor in the bay window across the room from Loki. "Get up and help your son." He spits down at Frigga.
All Loki can do is watch as his weakened Mother slowly stands from her pillow and moved to examine Thor. She lifts his shirt and slowly moves away from him. "My Love, I am not strong enough to help him."
"Of course you're not," the AllFather says in irritation, "you've been-"
"I have been helping our other son and you will respect that." Frigga gives the AllFather a stern look, then he sighs and stops. He doesn't even protest when Frigga's next words are; "Come here Loki." As the AllFather moves away, Loki walks across the room and to his Mother's side. "I need you to heal him."
"But the last time-"
"I don't want to hear about the last time, Loki," she puts her hand on his shoulder, "I want you to heal Thor like we both know you can." She gives him a reassuring smiles then moves to be next to the AllFather. "And we need to talk."
Loki watches his Mother and the AllFather leave the room and walk down the stairs until he couldn't see them anymore. Then his attention turns back to Thor.
He looks at where Thor's shirt is pulled up a little and sees his skin is a faint blue with small cracks covering it. Then he peers up to Thor's face which gives the allusion of Thor sleeping.
Without another thought Loki raises his hands to be just above Thor's body, closes his eyes, and starts to say the healing spell his Mother used early. Loki repeats the spell four times, feeling his hands growing warmer with each chant.
When he finishes the spell he keeps his eyes closed for a moment. Repeatedly saying, "Please." Basically praying to the Gods that Thor is alright.
