Foggy Memories

If it's alright with you guys I'm going to skip through most of the Avengers movie and just focus on most of the Loki x Thor details throughout it.

After being caught outside of the Stuttgart by the makeshift band of misfits, Loki is handcuffed and put into a helicopter. He doesn't truly know where they are taking him, but that's not what worries him after he sees the lighting outside of the helicopter and hears the thunder not long after. Loki knows his worry can't be hidden, especially with his newfound memories of him hating and being partly scared of his brother.

"What's a matter," Loki looks towards the front of the helicopter where the man in the jumpsuit stands, "scared of a little lightning?"

With a sincere look, Loki says; "I'm not overly fond of what follows."

And only a few seconds after a thudding sound comes from the roof and the whole helicopter shakes. The man in a metal suit places his helmet back on his head and opens the back of the helicopter, letting Thor enter. The man in the metal suit charges at Thor, but all Thor has to do is hit him with his hammer a single time, and the metal suited man is knocked to the front of the helicopter and into the jumpsuit wearing man. Then without another blink, Thor grabs Loki between his neck and shoulder and jumps out of the back of the helicopter.

Thor's mind is filled with mixed emotions as he's falling with his brother towards the ground. He's thankful Loki is alive, he's pissed Loki didn't show himself until now, he's even more pissed that Loki has possession of the Tesseract, but he's also pissed at himself for not searching more for Loki while he felt him calling out for him. Thor knows something had to happen for Loki to stop calling for him and then coming here and causing chaos.

However, when they land on the ground, Thor pushed his anger towards himself onto Loki and throws him towards the ground. Loki takes multiple deep breathes in order to get wind back into his sails, then laughs through his pain as his false memories of an abusive and evil older brother play through his mind.

Though Thor worries about why his brother is laughing when he should be in pain, Thor pushes his first questions aside and get's straight to what his father sent him for. "Where's the Tesseract?"

"I missed you too," Loki says under his breath. "Besides you should be thanking me, with the Bifrost gone how much dark energy did the all-father have to muster to conjure you here." Loki glares at the Midgard around him, before spitting out. "To your precious Earth."

Thor grumbles under his breath, drops Mjolnir, and rushes over to Loki. He lifts him up off of the ground so Loki is standing square in front of him. "I thought you were dead."

"Oh, did you mourn?" Loki asks sarcastically.

"We all did." Tears came to Thor's eyes. "Mother more than any of us." Not a full lie, Thor told himself. "Our father-"

"Your father." Loki walks away from him. "He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?"

Thor rolled his eyes and turned to follow his brother. "We were raised together." Loki's fake memories of being tormented by Thor play through his mind. "We played together." Fake memories of being pushed around or hit by Thor come next. "We fought together." Fake memories of being made to be the bait when it called for it played vividly. "Do you remember none of that?"

Loki turns to Thor in anger and says; "I remember a shadow, to say the least, I remember living in a shadow of your greatness." A tear rolls down Loki's face. "Of being tormented and being thrown into abyss-like battles that I could never win because I was the bait until you came in as the hero to save us all." Loki spits out. "I should be king just based on your rotteness."

"So you lay waste to what I care about?" Thor is confused by what his brother says, now he knows for sure his brother is not himself. "To recompense for your imagined hardships between us?" Loki gives Thor a look of confusion from his words. "No, not while Earth is under my protection."

Loki forces a laugh. "And you're doing a marvelous job with that, humans are slaughtering each other with drones while you idle the threat. I mean to rule, and why should I not?"

"You think you're better than them?"

"Why, yes."

"Then you miss the truth of ruling, brother." Thor says sincerely, "The throne would suit you ill."

Loki pushes past his brother and goes back up the hill. "I was on a world that you have never seen before. I was in pain for most of that time and I have grown from it." Loki speaks with the voice twisted with both anger and fear. "I was shown the true power of the Tesseract and when I wield it-"

Thor knows parts of the truth were intertwined in what his brother just said. "Who caused you that pain?" Loki gives him a sideways glance. "Who showed you the power of the Tesseract? Who controls you, a would-be-king?"

"I am a king!" Loki yells and makes Thor back down just slightly.

"Not here, brother." Thor places his hand on his brother's shoulder, "Not on Earth, just give me the Tesseract, and we can go home." Thor gives him a reassuring look. "You come home."

"I don't have it. You need it to take me home and I've sent it away." Loki snickers.

Mjolnir comes to Thor's hand as he gets closer to Loki. "Listen to me, brother-" And before Thor can say anything more, the man wearing a metal suit flies throw and tackles him down the cliff they are standing on.

Loki turns in the direction his brother was taken and yells out. "Thor!" Then an electric pain that he has felt before rages from his head and through the rest of his body. His brain twists as his worry for his brother push through. Parts of his mangled and fake memories start to shatter like broken glass within his mind. He falls to the ground on top of the cliff, his hands on his head trying to shut out the pain, but it not working.
