*Trigger Warning*

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Loki's head feels as though someone is hitting it with a hammer as he sits on the end of Thor's bed. Snippets of memories play through his mind. Some fill him with rage and others fill him with pride. He also has a moment where he must hold himself back from pushing his mother away from Thor to stop her from healing him.

He puts his face in his palms as he tries to push the memories away. However, every time he would push against then he'd feel a shock get sent through his body. Loki takes a couple of deep breaths, hoping they'll ease the pain.

"Loki." Thor says as he puts his hand on top of Loki's head.

Loki slowly lifts his head to find Thor's dusty blue eyes gently looking at him. His gaze drops to Thor's chest in search of what he had done to him, but he just sees peachy skin.

"Thor, you should lay back down," Frigga says grabbing his shoulder, "not many Asgardians have survived frostbite-"

"I'm fine, Mother, besides-" Thor peers into Loki's eyes, "-I'm not the son you should be worried about."

Both Frigga and Thor look at Loki and find that the turquoise-colored eyes he had returned to Asgard with are now dark blue. Upon seeing this, Frigga places her hand against Loki's forehead.

Once her hand touches his head, a memory plays through his mind, which Frigga is pulled into as well.

. . .

Right away Frigga is familiar with the memory, she walks through it like a shadow observing the past. But when Frigga sees herself she knows the memory is not true to what she remembers.

A young Loki sits at one of the tables in the library practicing magic with slim lines of blood running down from his hands and dripping onto the table. A slightly younger featured Frigga walks around him with a ruler in hand.

The ruler is one that Frigga is familiar with, it and another ruler was what Loki and Thor used to use as swords when they were around this young Loki's age. However, the All-Father took them away and gave them swords leading to more cuts on the boys than Frigga would care to remember.

"You call that a lifelike configuration?" The younger Frigga screams at Loki. "You have made a horse with six legs! How is that lifelike?" She slams the ruler on the table making the young Loki jump.

Loki lifts his head slightly and mumbles, "I couldn't concentrate-"

"Couldn't concentrate?" The young Frigga lets out a quick chuckle, then growls as she says; "Holds out your hands."

"But mother-"

"Don't squabble now Loki," she places her hand on his cheek with a forced smile, "I'm doing this for your own good. You know that right?"

The young Loki just nods with tears streaming down his face. He turns and holds out his already battered hands. His mother takes a step and readies to hit his hands with the ruler.

As the ruler is coming down, Frigga runs up to the scene and yells, "Stop!"

Within a blink of an eye, the young complected Frigga disappears and the young Loki turns into the grown Loki that is reliving this memory.

Loki looks back and forth from where the younger Frigga was standing and to where Frigga is now. "Wh-what's going on?"

"I don't know what has contorted your memories to be like this," Frigga cautiously walks towards him, "but this is not how this memory should be."

"That's a lie!" Loki hollers.

"My sweet boy," Frigga stands as close to him as Loki will allow without him moving away, "look at your hands, there is no blood, no scars, nothing."

Loki looks at his hands and finds them unblemished. He looks up at Frigga, "But this is how I learned magic-"

"You did learn in this library, but never in a million years would I hit you with a ruler."

"But-" Loki's words are cut off by him grabbing his head in pain and screaming out.

. . .

Frigga's hand falls from Loki's forehead as she is thrown out of Loki's mind. When her head stops spinning and she opens her eyes she finds Loki grabbing his head in pain with Thor holding him in worry.

"Someone has altered his memories," Frigga states while seeing Loki jolt in pain, "he thinks we all hated him and tortured him all his life."

Thor holds Loki closer to him, trying to make sure Loki knows he's there. "Can you help him?"

"I'm not sure." Frigga watches as the small amount of hope that Thor had leaves his eyes. "Nonetheless, bring him to the Healing Tower when he wakes," She stands from the bed, "I will not lose my son to a mind game." Then she walks out of the room with determination.

Frigga would rather go through Loki's pain with him than leave him to deal with it alone. Whether she had to go through every memory with him and show Loki how they were altered, she would help him. Part Frostgiant or not Loki is her son and she will not stand by and let him suffer.
