The Blame

Thor opens his eyes and looks up to find Loki's hands hovering over him with light retracting back into them. His only guess is that Loki is the one that just healed him.

He opens his mouth to make a snide comment but stops when Loki pleads to the Gods. Thor hears Loki quietly say 'please' over and over again before opening his eyes to peer down at him. Their eyes lock and neither of them says anything. They stare back and forth.

After a moment, Thor clears his throat and blinks a couple of times, then says; "I see you've gotten some of your power back." Thor smiles.

Loki smiles down at him. "That's the first thing you have to say after almost dying?"

"Hey, I've almost died a lot over the past few months, thank you." Thor chuckles as he moves to set up a little.

Loki lowers his gaze from Thor. "Because you were searching for me?" What he meant to keep in his mind came spilling out of his mouth. He doesn't even realize that he said it until he raises his eyes back up to Thor and sees a sad look in his deep blue eyes.

"I searched for you every moment I could, ever since you fell into that black hole." Loki slightly blushes. He knew that Thor had looked for him after he fell, but he never thought he'd admit it. "I even heard you calling out to me-"

"You what?" Loki asks quickly, but Thor ignores it.

"-it made me push harder to find you. I could feel everything that you were going through." Thor admits as he looks out the window, "The pain I could feel brought me to my knees more times than I care to admit and I know it had to have been ten times worse for you. How'd you fight for as long as you did?"

Loki is taken aback by the question. 'I can't tell him the real answer.' Loki thinks to himself. "I don't know," Thor looks back over at Loki just to see him shrug, "I guess I just thought about-"

"Thor!" Frigga and the AllFather yell in unison as they come back into the Healing Tower. They both run over to Thor, with Loki moving out of their way in the process. Frigga immediately checks Thor's abdomen to make sure that the skin is back to normal with no cracks. The AllFather sighs in relief while smiling down at Thor.

It's not until Frigga is finished inspecting Thor that she turns to Loki and pulls him into a hug. "You healed him just like I knew you could." When she pulls away she gives him a warm smile.

"All he did was fix something that he caused." Frigga's smile vanishes when she hears what the AllFather said.

Both Frigga and Thor begin to scold the AllFather. They call out to him and take turns defending Loki.

"Didn't we just talk about this?" Frigga walks to the AllFather, "He can not help what is going on with him right now-"

"He almost froze your son to death and that was after he almost took over Earth!" Odin screams in anger, "And before that, he tried to take over Asgard and tried to take his own life!" He gives Loki a look of disgust. "He doesn't deserve your defense or anything from us, he has done this to himself!"

"You can't actually believe that," Thor says drawing everyone's attention to him as he moves so his feet are on the ground. "The only reason he did any of those things is because you've been lying to him his entire life!" Thunder sounds outside the bay window as storm clouds cover the bright sky. "How would you feel if your entire life was a lie? If you finally found out why your father treated you differently and always looked down on you?" Lightning lights up the room as bolts strike the ground outside. "You are the reason all of this has happened!"

"Silence!" The skies clear instantly as Odin yells making everyone jump. "I will not be blamed for the acts of a grown man who has only ever blamed others for his problems." Odin turns to Loki, "You will be taken to the cells below the palace and that is where you will stay." Odin turns to Thor, "You shall stay away from him and you are not to leave Asgard." Finally, he turns to Frigga, "And you, my dear wife, can stay in your personal courters for I do not wish to see any of you." 

Odin turns from all of them and towards the stairs. "Father-" Loki takes a step towards the AllFather making him turn back around. "-do not punish them for my wrong-doings," Loki tries to focus as memories flood his mind, "I will do whatever you ask of me."

At first, Loki does not get a response, but finally Odin says; "I ask nothing of you, Loki Laufeyson." These words of disgust make Loki drop his defenses against the memories.

Odin walks down the stairs as royal guards come up, two for each. Frigga is the first to be led out of the Healing Tower. Then Loki, who is put into shackles that block his magic then slowly led out of the room.

"Loki," Thor hollers as the last two guards stand in wait for him, "Loki." Loki turns to Thor, but all Thor sees staring back are crystal blue eyes.
