3: Surprise!!

Ayato opened his eyes slowly. For some reason, he feels like he woke up a little early. His eyelids were a little heavy. He rubbed his eyes and stroked his hair back. I guess because I work so much, I wake up early when I'm supposed to sleep longer. He just couldn't help it.

He got up, and put on his white uniform. He ruffled his sleeves and fixed his hair. Ayato then left his room to find silence. "..."

I guess I woke up before even Thoma. He'd think. Thoma usually wakes up early to prepare tea and breakfast. Maybe I should go see him..

Ayato walked over to Thoma's room. He knocked on the door. "Thoma, are you awake?" He then proceeded the open the door, to see an unexpected surprise.

"Hm?" Thoma was awake, and looked over to see Ayato. He was grasping his hair to tie into that usual ponytail, holding his hair tie in his mouth.

"..." Ayato got flustered, as he rarely sees Thoma with his hair down. He immediately closed the door after realizing that he'd been staring for too long. "Pardon me!"

Lord Kamisato put his hands on his face. Are my cheeks burning?? Thoma looked so adorable in that moment, he just couldn't help but stare.

What would Thoma think? His Lord walking in while he was getting ready. At least he wasn't shirtless. He sleeps with that black shirt on, anyways.

I really just saw him like that.. Ayato couldn't stop the embarrassment.

Soon after, the door opened, and Ayato turned to see Thoma, hair tied and outfit on. The only thing that wasn't on was his jacket. "My lord, did you sleep okay? You seem a little flustered this morning. Is it because you woke up early?"

Ayato caught his cool. "It could be possible. I apologize for suddenly walking in." He couldn't help but think about the way Thoma looked.

Thoma smiled cheerfully. "I don't mind it at all. It's just that I usually wake up before everyone else, so it's a little different."

That's why I never get to see him with his hair down.. Ayato wanted to see more of that silky, blonde hair. Thoma was already so mesmerizing to look at in general, but to see him with his hair down..

Thoma slipped his jacket on. "Well, Milady should already be awake, so shall we proceed on our morning?"

"Yes."

They walked into the next room to see Ayaka talking to a man.

"Oh! Nii-Sama! This kind gentleman has come for your assurance." Ayaka said.

"Hm? What for?" Ayato would ask.

The man spoke up. "I deeply apologize for coming early in the morning, but it's a little bit of an emergency. You see, some suspicious people are camping behind a ledge near Chinju forest. They have a lot of supplies that people claim were stolen from their shops. My client had just found them this morning when they went to go fishing. If you don't mind.."

"Well, if it is an emergency, I must come for your assistance." Ayato said. "Any trouble to citizens must be dealt with immediately."

"Thank you, Lord Kamisato. I'll show you where they are, and if you need to bring backup.."

"I'm sure I can deal with them myself. Don't worry." Ayato said, as they left the estate.

Ayaka waved goodbye.

Good thing we got him and his friends to help get Lord Ayato out so we can prepare for the birthday party. Thoma thought. The man and the treasure hoarders are just normal citizens to make a play to trick Ayato into leaving. They thought it'd be the best.
