The next day, it was just the three. Diluc had gone to do other work, and had to be absent. So it was just Thoma and the bluenette's.

The three sat on some logs near Mondstadt, having some fruits like berries and sunsettia with them as a snack.

"Jean is the Master now of the Knights of Favonius now? She definitely deserves that title." Thoma said.

"Oh! J-Just the Acting Grand Master.." Kaeya corrected.

"Oh, just the Acting Grand Master? Well.." Thoma laughed. "Someone of her standing won't care about titles."

"She has a sister, did you know? I don't think you've ever met her." Kaeya would ask. "If you remember somebody named Barbara.."

"That name doesn't ring a bell. Don't think I've met anyone with that name." Thoma said. "Is she..?"

"She's a sister of the Church of Favonius. She's an idol, here. A singer. I remember having to save her from a crowd." Kaeya said.

Ayato scoffed with smile. "That's no different in Inazuma with my sister and I."

Kaeya laughed with nervousness, a cold hand touching his face.

"Oh, and I've been meaning to ask a question. I forgot to mention it our first night here." Ayato said.

Kaeya waited with patience. "Hm?"

"About this Childe person.." He started. "I believe heard of his presence wondering around the Chinju Forest in Inazuma. A friend of my sister's hung out with him looking for some youkai." Ayato stopped for some air. "But that's not why I'm saying this. I believe Childe has some other plans, doesn't he?"

-At some point during the picture event, I saw Childe and Yoimiya in the Chinju Forest, did you?-

"I believe so. I assume you know of his real identity?" Kaeya asked.

"I know that he's a Fatui Harbringer for sure. He's the third one who came to Inazuma." Ayato said.

"Right, Signora and this Scaramouche were there. I'm still upset about hearing from Childe what happened there." Kaeya looked down at the ground. His expression saddened.

"So you're aware, that Signora has deceased?" Ayato asked. "Were you close to her?"

Kaeya looked up at Ayato. "I was. She took care of me as if I were her son. I don't know who my mother was, but I'm sure she was like Signora. I'm not as angry at the Raiden Shogun as I am Rex Lapis."

"Eh? What happened with Rex Lapis?" Thoma asked.

Kaeya looked at Thoma with the same expression always plastered on his face years ago. Blank, and empty looking. As if he had no soul. "Thoma, do you remember how I looked, back then?"

"Ehm.. Well, uhm.." Thoma tried his best to remember. "You.. always kept this death chilling expression on your face. And you used to be.. covered in bandages."

"Yes. That was caused by Rex Lapis." Kaeya had an angered expression, veins clenching, visible on his face. "I'll never forget that day.." He squeezed his fist, almost making it bleed from digging his nails into his palm.
