10: Bride?

It had been a little while since the Kamisato siblings had gone to each other and talked. Maybe a little too long since they have. They've been quite busy.

"I have a feeling something is on your mind, Nii-Sama." Ayaka would lean over, peering at Ayato's expression.

"Hm. I just don't know about this Hino girl Thoma is now dating. Something tells me she isn't good news." Ayato would say.

Milady covered her face with her fan. "Whatever the case may be, I'm sure that Thoma will be fine with her. But if she intervenes with the Kamisato Clan and Yashiro Commission.."

"If that ever happens, I'll have to make sure she stays away from Thoma." Ayato put his hands on the desk.

Ayaka stared at her brother. "Uh- Well then, you're coming in a little protective of our chief retainer." She'd giggle with nerves running down her spine.

"It's just that he's one of the people I trust completely. I care about the people I trust most." Ayato said. "Which is like.. 2 to 3 people that I really care for."

"It seems a little unfair."

"How so?"

"I mean, to the rest of the Kamisato Clan. You make it sound like you only care about your favorite friends, and not your people."

"Oh yes, I care about them, too."

Ayaka wanted to protest at her brother's sounding sarcasm, but she kept her mouth shut. "..."

"Anyways, there has been something that I've been thinking about." Ayato would then say.

"Hm?"

Thoma's eyes widened in shock. "L-Lord Ayato? He.."

"Yes, Thoma. He wants to find a bride." Ayaka would say. "I know it's surprising, and I had the same reaction. But perhaps it's time, he'd say."

"He's at the age of which he should get married. To continue the family bloodline. Finding a bride will do so, and it makes us both feel uncomfortable." Ayaka would say. She had an almost, disappointed expression.

"How would he find a bride? He can't just marry a stranger he's never met. It's got to be somebody he's at least worked with." Thoma thought for a moment.

"I'm sure Nii-Sama has his ways of finding somebody. With no doubt, he'll find somebody who matches him." Ayaka said.

She closed her fan with a flick of her wrist. "Now, then. We must prepare a gathering in front of the estate, for a party. It seems like the best idea for finding somebody."

"If he doesn't find anybody, he would stay single.. But if he does find the one, then he may lose attention to us." Thoma twiddled his fingers together. "That's what I'm worried about."

"We're family to him. I don't think that would happen." Ayaka said.

Behind the wall of the hallway, stood her older brother.
