-Lots of Thoma angst probably

Ayato and Thoma stared at the place they were in.

"This is it. A place full of ruin machines. This is where they like to hang out most." Ayato said. He pulled out his sword as he peered down at the ruin machines. "We best be prepared for fighting, those things are incredibly dangerous for being so old."

Amakumo Peak. They were staring at the gaping hole that ruin machines surrounded.

"Stick by my side, don't get distracted." Ayato would warn Thoma before they started walking. He held the blonde's hand as they started entering the borders.

As they walked, distant sounds of thunder made the rocks on the ground shake. Thoma flinched at the lightning that struck afar. Still, he was very struck with the sounds of the thunder. Uh.. no pun intended.

"Oh, my apologies love. I've been so focused on finding your father, that I had forgotten you have a fear of lightning." Ayato stopped with the blonde.

"It's okay, I've just been anxious about finding my dad, so.." Thoma covered his ear with one hand.

After minutes of walking, Ayato realized something. He looked around with confusion and curiosity. "Hm.. That's unusual." He slowed to a stop.

"What's wrong?" Thoma asked.

"For being a place crawling with machines, it's awfully quiet. How about we take look around? I need to see what's going on." Ayato started searching the place they were in. "Stay near me."

There were some places where puzzles are located. Ruin machines like to hang around there, yet none lied around.

Ayato looked around a slate of stone, but then he shot back into a ready stance when he saw a Ruin Scout sat on the ground. But then his stance relaxed when it wasn't moving. The machine's lights seemed to be off.

"Hm." Ayato poked it with his sword, crouching down and examining it. "Looks like somebody was here. It's highly possibly that Tom did this. Some parts of the machine are scorched."

Thoma's heart started beating faster. His breath got heavy as he got more nervous.

Ayato stood up and turned towards Thoma. "I guess that explains why there aren't many machines here. They were all beat to death." He wiped the sweat off Thoma's face. "How are you holding up?"

"I'm scared. What if we find him terribly injured?" Thoma was very worried.

Ayato meant to give him a kiss of comfort, but then they stopped and looked over when they heard creaking.

It was a Ruin Defender. Although it was moving, it seemed very weak. It was like it's parts were broken. The machine seemed to be making an attempt to get further away.

"I got it." Ayato started walking toward it, gripping his sword.

"No, wait! It doesn't seem to have an intention to attack us." Thoma grabbed his wrist. "Also he's already really broken. It looks like he survived a brutal attack."

Ayato looked at him. "You're talking as if it's a living thing. Robots can't feel pain. They do not have feelings."

"Let's just watch and see what it does." Thoma started following the machine. It didn't seem to pay any attention to him.

Ayato sighed. How could somebody care for something that isn't a living thing?

After a while of following the machine, it stopped suddenly. It slowly turned around and faced the two. It's head seemed to twitch, sparking as it continued backing away from them.
