My Sweet Servant // Ayato x Thoma

-Uh Romance stuff I guess..?

-This was inspired by Ash's 'As You Wish' story on Quotev (I'll put the link at the end of the story)

His Lord sat behind the screen. All day, he had been talking to clients coming in and out. "Well, if that's the case, surely I can have somebody look into that." He'd say.

"Thank you, Lord Kamisato." The stranger bowed at the screen, which obviously Ayato can't see. "I shall take my leave, now."

Footsteps went quiet after the door opened and closed. Ayato sighed. He sure has been using his voice a lot, he didn't realize how tiring it often gets.

He heard a knock. "Come in."

The door opened. "..My lord, it may sound a little sheepish.. But.." It was a long living adult.

Ayato guessed he was in his late 40's. "Don't be afraid, now. If you really need to come to me for your problem, there's no need to be hesitant."

He could feel the man at ease.

The other sad on his knees on the other side of the screen. "It's just that.. my daughter Hino.." The man took a deep breath.

"She's had an interest in your chief retainer for a while, now." He'd say.

Ayato's whole body stopped. He took a moment to answer. "Is that so?"

"Yes, my lord. She's always asked if she could come to you to talk to him. So finally, I've come to ask if that is okay. But.. I am sure Thoma has important duties.." The other said.

"Yes, Thoma is very often.. But I assure you, I'll tell him about this and see if I can clear his schedule for your daughter." Ayato would say.

He heard the other sigh. "Thank you very much, my lord. How will you tell me if he's available?"

"I'll send a servant to your residence to come on over here." Ayato said, fists clenching in irritation. "I'm sure Thoma will warm up to her."

It was a lie. He didn't want Thoma to be with another. Not when he's the one who Ayato loves.

"I pray the best of luck to her." The man stood up. "I will leave, now. Thank you for your service, Lord Kamisato."

"Of course."

After the man left, Ayato sighed, looking down. Something tells him that he shouldn't tell Thoma about the man's daughter.

Hino was her name.. I remember that I've met her before, faintly. I'm sure that I had Thoma with me. She must have fallen in love the moment she saw him. Ayato recognized that name. He knew it came from somewhere.. I cannot let her intervene with Thoma and I.

He bit his lip. Guess I'll go tell Thoma now. He'd think, as he got up.

"Hm? Me? Are you sure?" Thoma asked. He was sleeping the plank floor outside of the estate.

"I'm quite sure. The father merely mentioned your name when he informed me." Ayato responded. "Why do you ask that?"

"..It's just.. Nobody has ever confessed that they have feelings for me. Usually, it's always you." Thoma said. He made eye contact. "I mean.. you're better than me."

That's not true. Ayato thought. He cooks better than me.

"People have their reasons. We can respect them for that. If you want, I can clear your schedule and you can have some time with her." Ayato said.
