(Uh oh, we got something going on)

-Thoma angst

-Violence

Ayato walked into the kitchen shortly after waking up. He noticed that breakfast and tea was made for him, but nobody else was nowhere to be seen. There was a note on the table next to the tray of food. Ayato picked it up and read it.

'I had to leave early for an unexpected appointment. So I went ahead and made breakfast for you, knowing the way you cook.. I may be gone for a while, so come look for me in Inazuma City if you need me. ~Thoma'

"Hm.." Ayato wondered what it was all about, taking a drink of the tea. What was so important that he had to leave for a while?

Ayaka was nowhere to be seen, as well.

"Good morning, Nii-Sama."

Nevermind.

"Ah, good morning." Ayato said, turning to look at his sister.

Ayaka noticed that he had Thoma's note in his hand. "..I wonder what he had to do, too.."

"Must have been important. Otherwise he wouldn't leave so early." Ayato would say.

"Yes. But it worries me. It could be something bad." Ayaka held her hands together.

"Whatever it is, I'm sure Thoma has a way of handling it. He's known as the 'fixer' of Inazuma for a reason." Ayato smiled in a comforting way.

His sister nodded.

It was a while after the afternoon, Thoma still wasn't home. It was starting to get concerning for Ayato.

I feel there's something wrong about this.. Must be more than just a small issue. The other day, he came home from a commission with a blank expression. I would have thought that he was just exhausted, but the vibes he gave off told a different story.. If he had to be honest, seeing Thoma with such empty eyes that day.. made him a little afraid to say anything to him.

Ayato heard the door open, and saw that blonde walk in. "Thoma! You've returned."

"Yes, my lord." Thoma smiled. But it wasn't the usual, bright and comforting smile Ayato always sees. The shine had left his eyes, and there was something more to him..

"!?" Ayato's eyes widened. "Thoma, did you get hurt?"

"Huh?"

Ayato walked up to Thoma, grabbing his wrist. "These bandages are bleeding."

"Mm.." Thoma pulled his hand away, holding it to his chest. "It's fine, it's not fatal or anything. I accidentally sliced it open when I was helping somebody repair a project."

Again with that meaningless smile.. Something was definitely on his mind, but Ayato didn't want to make him uncomfortable by asking.

But would it be any better if he looked into the situation without Thoma knowing? It would be impolite for him to peek in on somebody's business.

Ayato had a worried expression on his face. "Please be more careful, Thoma. You mustn't let yourself get hurt like that."

"I will, my lord." Thoma walked past him to his room.
