Life has been peaceful and unusually quiet at Monarch Academy, no villain attacks, the vigilante group has almost retired, some still looking for action, and are enjoying Spending time with their loved ones.

I was in what I believed to be the remains of an old warehouse, the roof and walls collapsed and rubble. I looked around and the sight sent me into panic
Jack was unconscious with blood coming from his forehead, Blake desperately trying to wake him, Yuuto was clinging to Kiyo, trying to keep his balance with something impaled through his foot. Shizu was hunched over a comatose Rikku, sobbing.
When I looked over, my adrenaline spiked and worry blew up inside of me. Artemis was lying on his back, soaked in his blood. He had a stab wound in his shoulder, slashes on his stomach, his face a bloody mess and his knuckles were red and black. Some random guy was filled with panic, doing CPR on his chest and mouth to mouth. All I could hear was the young man mumble " come on Arty, breathe for me kid please!" He continued to do CPR, desperately trying to wake him.
After a while, he put two fingers to Artemis' neck, looking for a pulse. A few seconds and he began to cry, shaking his head and sobbing. My heart began to pound, my stomach shrinking and my eyes filling with water. My head throbbed and my chest hurt, I screamed before my vision went black.

I woke up in fear, my body shaking violently, my throat felt like it was on fire and my sight was blurry from the tears.
That was way to real, why would I picture that?! Was it trying to tell me something?
I tried to put it together, my friends injured or dead, a blown up building, similar to the laboratory, the recent meeting, the rumors. Suddenly it all connected and I made a conclusion
If I don't take the vigilante job, it's gonna be the cause of my friend's and boyfriend's death
Oh god
I looked over at my alarm clock
3:32 PM
In just a few hours, we would start the investigation at the warehouse, but I decided to try and leave a bit early. I walk up the stairs and into the living room, just starting at the room, thinking. I look over to see Rikku and Shizu asleep together, cuddled up on the couch. The vision of Rikku's unconscious body and Shizu sobbing invades my mind. I shake my head violently to clear it and silently head up to Arty's room.
Quietly, I open the door to see him sound asleep, wrapped in his sheets. I slowly walk over to the side of his bed and looked at him. While watching his peaceful face, another vision clouds my mind, Artemis on the ground, the other guy desperately trying to restart his heart. My vision returns to Arty's sleeping form. I know what I have to do, might as well make a confession now, one he may or may not be able to hear.
" I know we promised that if we were ever going through something, that we would tell each other and help each other out. But what I have been doing, will just get you hurt. What I'm doing is to hopefully protect you, keep you safe. I'm so sorry Artemis, but I have to do this. I love you, always." I whisper, before I leave his room, I bend over and kiss his forehead.
I walk out of Artemis' room, down the stairs and to the front door, hesitating for one moment before quietly walking out.
Little did I know that I would be dragging another innocent life to my consequences. •~•
Shizu's P.O.V - a few hours earlier
Me and Rikku were in her dorm room, trying on some of Arty's designs we borrowed and updating each other on what happened.
" so apparently, Arty had this brother - like friend in the orphanage, and they just reunited after almost 7 years!" She exclaimed, I smiled " I bet Artemis is happy, imagine if we were separated for 7 years, I wouldn't be able to live with myself!" I said, only partially joking, but Rikku must've though I was only kidding " y-you would probably move on, that's life after all, that or do something stupid" she answers, I gave her a look
" I don't know, you mean a lot to me, I don't know what I would do without you" I flirt with a bit of honesty. Rikku was the best thing that has happened to me, made me ok with who I am and not letting anyone cloud my beliefs. I owe her a lot. After I said the statement, I saw Rikku blush and look away, " y-you mean a lot to me t-too" I smiled and grabbed her hand
" come on, no need to blush. How about we head up and watch a movie" I offer and that seems to please her " sure! I'll go make the mozzarella sticks!" She announces and runs up the stairs, me laughing behind.
A few hours later, after discussing movie ideas, lighting the kitchen on fire for a second, a few burnt mozzarella stick and finding a good movie, we sit down next to each other and keep our attention on the screen.
Once the movie is over, i noticed that it was already dark outside. I see Rikku who is almost asleep on my shoulder, her eyes barely open. I don't know if it was tiredness or complete sincereness, but she mumbled "I love you Shizu" her comment catches me off guard, but I smiled and return the gesture as Rikku snuggles closer to me and falls asleep. Soon I follow in suit.
Later I n the night, something awakes me. Quietly, I turn my attention to the stairs to see Shino, standing on the stairs, looking distressed. I watch him go up to Arty's room and then head back down to the living room again. Finally, after a few minutes of hesitation, he walks out the front door.
What is this man up to? Why is he sneaking out so late at night?
I look down at the peaceful sleeping face of Rikku and think for a moment
I know Rikku doesn't want me going into trouble.... Ahh but I can't just sit here while Shino is stalking around!
Carefully, I pull myself out of Rikku's grip and quickly but quietly make my way out the door and follow Shino, wondering what he was up to and oblivious to what my decision would do to me ————————————————————————

Today I discovered that my injury I got yesterday, was actually a sprain and I only made it worse when I was at my school dance yesterday.
