Chapter 24 - Suprise!

We stood outside the building, starring in shock at our fate. No one moved. No one said anything. We just stood there.

Me, Rikku, Patron, Jack, Laura and Yuuto were standing side by side, hand in hand, camouflaged under Patron's quirk.

" s- so this is it?" Rikku clarifed in a shaky voice, Jack nodded

" scary isn't it." He stated, we all nodded. No one looked at each other, we just stared at the building when Jack spoke up again

" ok guys, I know you know the plan, and just so you know, you're ready. You all have been greater heroes than me, Shino, Kiyo, Shizu or Blake ever could. I'm proud to call you all not just my friends or teammates, but a family. And whatever happens in there, just know that.... I love you guys." We looked towards him and smiled. Me and Yuuto gave him a complimentary nod as we faced the building again. We all thought the same thing about each other. It wasn't a secret.

Patron spoke up " ok, ready your Quirks..." he ordered, we all had our hero outfits on, I was in my umbra form, We all were ready. "Remember, use your hero names!" Patron ordered again, we all nodded in agreement. "ok then.... Let's do this." He concluded as we broke hands and went our separate ways.

If I was in my original form, there would have been no way for me to do this. I would have been guilt stricken just by breaking the first window.  But in this form, I'm different.

Me, Rikku, Jack and Laura all took different sides of the building. We would start to cause trouble on the outside, breaking windows, messing with the electrical system. Then we would slowly make our way inside.

After smashing some windows and distracting the henchmen, I was able to sneak in and hide in the storage area, behind some boxes. The goons were mumbling together in confusion and annoyance when a loud sound of crackles and pops filled the air. I peeked my head around the corner of the box and saw that Rikku had made some firecracker like explosions in the hallway.

While the men made their way to the source of the noise, I quickly and silently moved to the water system. Because of the darkness, I was able to slice the piping in half using the shadows as a sharp, strong knife. Water shot and sputtered everywhere, soaking the water system room and out into the hallway. I quickly swam to the vent system and crawled inside so I could make my way to the next room.

During my travels in the air duct, I heard a strange explosion or sound the shook the vents. Through the vent blinds, I saw that Jack let out a sound wave that caused one of the walls to topple on some of the guards.

I crawled until I found an exit to another hallway. I dropped from the vents with a thud and then hid in the shadows. A cluster of soldiers were running through the hallway, panicking from all the commotion. Silently, I followed.

I followed them until we came up onto a room, probably the main control center. There, the room bustled with henchmen, all bumping into each other, arguing, panicking, demanding answers as to what was happening.

This is probably 3/4 of the entire henchmen army!

Across the room, I saw another hallway, and poking out of the shadows was the tip of a witch's hat. Rikku. She saw me and smiled, I just gave her a stern look.

Why is she trying to communicate with me? She's going to get caught!

I looked to where she was motioning and saw another hallway. There, Jack occupied the opening of the hallway. Across from him, another hallway and in it, Laura.
