TAHIMIK AKONG KUMAKAIN habang ang mga kapatid ko at si Legend ay tuloy-tuloy ang kwentuhan.

Ever since Legend and our orders arrived, wala na silang pinaguusapan kundi tungkol sa business, current situation sa stock markets at state affairs.

Pakiramdam ko tuloy business meeting ang napuntahan ko kaysa dinner. Halos hindi nga nila nababawasan ang mga inorder namin. Ako na yata ang nangalahati ng mga 'yon. Hindi ko na napapansin pa kung gaano na karami ang nakain ko basta gusto ko na lang na maubos na 'tong lahat para wala na silang rason para mag-stay pa rito ng magkakasama.

"May fortune cookie kaya silang ibibigay sa atin?" Tanong ni Kuya Xander.

Nakahinga ako nang maluwag. Salamat naman at natapos na sila sa tuloy-tuloy na business talks nila. Feeling ko secretary nila ako kanina and I have to keep tabs of what they're talking about for the minutes of the meeting.

"Meron. After we eat, I think," sagot sa kanya ni Kuya Lander.

"How's the married life?"

Natahimik ako at si Legend sa tanong ni Kuya Vander. Napalunok ako at tila hindi ko alam kung ano ang isasagot ko sa kanya. I want to tell him the truth but I know Kuya Vander's temper.

Hot-headed si Kuya Lander at madaling makipagaway, Kuya Xander is the soft one. He always tries to avoid arguments, but Kuya Vander is the scariest of them all. Kapag nanahimik na siya, mas nakakatakot siya.

Kaya kahit na komportable ako sa kanilang tatlo, natatakot pa rin ako kapag nalaman nila ang totoo. I've seen how they deal with it kapag may tumraydor sa kanila.

And trust me, you don't want to get on their bad side.

I looked at Legend and he's already looking at me. None of us could speak. The triplets are waiting for us while Legend and I are trying to make up an answer.

Akmang bubuka na ang mga labi ni Legend pero inunahan ko na siya.

"We're good, kuyas. We're fine." I smiled. "Nawala lang siya nitong mga nakaraang araw because he has to attend some important meetings. Empire's business."

"I see." Kuya Vander nodded.

"Legend has been taking care of me so well. He sees to it that I will eat despite the busy schedule I have in law school. Kahit na busy siya, pinupuntahan pa niya ako sa kwarto namin just to greet me a good morning, evening, and night. Kinakamusta rin niya ako oras-oras noong wala siya sa bahay namin," sambit ko. I forced a smile to make my statement more legit and believable.

I glanced at Legend. He doesn't have any reactions on his face and he's just looking at me intently. I smiled at him, too, before returning my eyes to my brothers.

The words that I said . . . that were the things I wish that my husband would do to me. I hate matrimonies, but I still wanted to have a peaceful and happy marriage. Kahit na pilit lang ang kasal na 'to, nandoon ang respeto sa pagitan namin ng asawa ko. Na magiging kakampi ko siya sa mga bagay at magtutulungan kami sa mga panahong kailangan namin ang isa't isa.

"Though I just don't know how the people in the mansion are taking care of her but I make sure that she's comfortable and welcomed there," Legend added which surprised me.

Lies. He exactly knows kung paano ako tratuhin ng mga tao doon. Hindi nga lang niya ako pinaniniwalaan.

Nagkatinginan ang mga kapatid ko at sumeryoso ang titig nila kay Legend pati na rin sa akin.

"What do you mean? Is there something going on? Anong ginawa nila kay Eloise?" kunot-noong tanong ni Kuya Lander.

Legend shook his head. "Wala naman. Ilang beses na rin naman akong umalis ng matagal at wala naman naging reklamo si Eloise. I'm just curious on how they treat her. But don't worry, if something happens, I'll make sure to investigate the incident fairly."
