I COULD FEEL the bullets piercing my body and how striking the pain was. I'm sure it registered on my face because I saw Eloise's tears instantly fall when she kneeled beside me.
"I swear. I'm going to find you, wife. I'm going to do everything just to bring our lives back and change our fate," I said and smiled at her crying face.
She's still pretty even if her face is drenched from crying. But that was the last time I saw her face. After that, I woke up back in my world. The real world.
"August, please behave. You've been gone for a few months. This is your first fanmeet after your accident. Everything is held back because of it. We can't afford to make any mishaps this time. Okay? Galit na si boss dahil sa mahal ng binayad sa mga kinanselang kontrata at commercial mo." Tuloy-tuloy na litanya ni Ate Mariz. She's my manager.
"Yes, ate. I know," bored kong sagot.
"Sana talaga, ha!"
"Opo."
I maintained my straight face while I got escorted to the venue of my fanmeet after my long break. Wala akong pinagsabihan na kahit sino tungkol sa nangyari sa akin. I woke up without the book I found in my condo.
Pakiramdam ko nagkamali ng regalo ang isa sa mga fan ko sa notebook na 'yon. I think that is their personal notebook. Somehow, it got mixed up with their gift.
When I opened the notebook, I immediately figured out that it was a story. A short story, to be exact. Out of curiosity, I read it. At first, I was a bit annoyed that the main lead is too naïve. She let her husband abuse her until her last breath. Until the end of the story, my perspective towards the main character, Eloise, didn't change. Pati na rin sa asawa niyang gago. I hated the character, Legend, so much. It urged me to rewrite the story but that was the least of my concern at that time. I had an upcoming promotion for my newly released movie. I have to focus on that.
However, when I accidentally fell on stage while I was practicing for my special music show production, I woke up inside the novel.
Akala ko nababaliw lang ako noong una. Pinagsasampal ko ang sarili ko sa sobrang gulat kung paano ako napunta doon. But then I still lived my life as Legend. 'Yon kasi ang alam kong paraan para makaalis doon. Ang tapusin ang kwento. But, I fell in love with Eloise which shouldn't suppose to happen. From that part, the original course of the story changed. Hindi dapat mamamatay si Legend. Eloise was the one destined to die.
Pero bukod sa pagbabagong 'yon, may isa pang bagay na nakapagpagulat sa akin. Umamin si Eloise na hindi siya ang totoong Eloise. Galing din siya sa mundo ko at aksidenteng napasok lang sa libro. Nawawala ang totoong Eloise at pinagpanggap lang siya ng karakter na si Nathan Sy bilang anak nito.
Alam namin pareho na delikado ang nalaman namin sa isa't isa. Nararamdaman namin na hindi kami magiging ligtas sa pagbabago ng kwento.
Lalo na noong naging kontrabida si Chester na hindi dapat mangyayari.
Noong nalaman namin ang magiging karakter ni Chester, naghanda kami ng plano. I bought a notebook, and we decided to write the story again. Kung sakali man na may mangyari, iniisip namin na mahahanap kami ulit, kahit sino sa aming dalawa, ng notebook na 'yon at bumalik sa mundong 'to para itama ang lahat.
