I frowned at him. "What are you doing?"

He looked at me in disbelief. "You." He whispered as my eyes widened.

He knew.

Oh dear god no. My eyes widened which just confirmed his beliefs.

"Zach."

"You knew. You didn't tell me. I was going crazy trying to find you!"

"I-I was.."

"You were what? Trying to what?" He interrupted me again.

"Zach! You know the truth! This would have never worked out. It wouldn't have gone our way. You need to understand the fact that we would have been nothing but a mistake." I whispered.

He shook his head. "I shouldn't have these feelings about you Evie. Your Joe's little sister and..."

"If it was anyone else I would get to know them in a second but it's you Evie."

"It's just me. The girl who made Zachary Evens chase a girl. The girl whose known him since she was a baby, the girl he called his bumblebee."

"The girl whose heart will eventually be mine."

"One day." I said with a smile.

"One day. And that's a promise."

I shook my head as I turned and walked away. "Zachary don't promise things you can't keep."

I knew and maybe he knew behind that promise was a sense false hope of a relationship that would go nowhere.

But he still grabbed my hand and pulled me in close. And there was this feeling that you get before you get kissed and then he pressed his warm lips against mine.

I loved it. But it was so wrong but I still loved it.

And the feeling was like no other. Nothing I could describe other than being high and Zachary Evens was my drug.

And with one taste I was addicted
