I always noticed her, she just never knew it. I noticed her on the bus, in the hallways, in class. There was something about her that intrigued me.
I had known her since preschool and we rarely talked. She wasn't afraid to keep her opinion to herself. If she thought it was unfair, she would speak up. She was the class president and she was smart, bubbly, and an overall good person. A person I wanted to know. But somedays she would come with a frown and she would fake a smile, but no one noticed other than me and I wanted to know why.
She was smart, but never showed it off. She wasn't the type to brag and kept her grades to herself and would only share with a select few. She never refused to help others and she was a kindhearted person. And the world needed more people like her.
I always wondered if we could have been friends if we had ever talked. She didn't know it, but I found her fascinating.
But she never noticed me, I was just a guy who could throw a ball around and run around a field and had nothing figured out. She was the pretty smart girl who had everything figured out. And not to mention, she was my best friend's sister. And there was an unspoken rule that every guy knows and even though I broke the rules constantly this was a rule I never dared to break.
