I dismissed myself from the hospital and made my way to the enters nice where Cole was waiting with his car.

Seth had to leave to set up and told me Cole was gonna pick me up. And now he knew about this entire thing too.

And if that wasn't bad enough I had called Evie over 30 times and she hadn't picked up. Eventually it ringing and just went to voicemail.

I saw Cole on the phone with who I assumed was Nova.

"No I'm not mad at you princess. You were just keeping a secret. Hurt yes. But not mad." He saw me coming and tossed me the keys. "Alright Nov just show up tonight and we can talk. I gotta take Zach home. Love you." And he hung up.

"Alright. Well let's get you home to get ready for a party."

"Party?" I scoffed "might as well be a funeral, if he finds out."

"Only if he finds out. He was oblivious after all these years."

"Still feels wrong."

He shook his head. "Yeah that complicates things. Is she talking to you?"

"I called her, texted, apologized multiple times. She's hell-bent on ignoring me."

"Yeah Nova said she's not answering any of her calls either."

"What do you mean?"

"Well she isn't answering anyone who calls her. And Nova going over to her house to see what's up."

"Coke we need to go to her house."

"Chill Romeo. We'll get there in due time. You first need to take a shower and get that hospital smell off you."

"Are you sure she's..."

"I'm sure she's fine! Now you need to go get ready." He said with a sigh.

"But.."

"How long do you think you can go without Joe finding out?" Cole said switching the subject.

I ran my hand through my hair. "I honestly have no idea. He's gonna kill me when he finds out."

"Oh trust me. I'm well aware."

"The thing is Cole. I'm going to be halfway around the country while she's still here and then afterwards when she heads off the college what's gonna happen?"

"It's a dangerous cycle. You gone, her gone.. I'm not sure how's it's gonna work out."

"What are you doing about Nova?"

He sighed. A lovestruck sigh. "I honestly don't want to leave her.. But I have a surprise up my sleeve."

I looked at him and he just gave a cocky little smile. "Oh no Zachary, the magician never reveals his tricks."

I sighed as the car neared my house. "Well go get ready. We can't be late for your own party."

I made my way inside as I felt a tug in my jeans I looked down to see my little sister. "Hey there Lil."

"Hi Zachy. Are you better."

"Much better. Now that's I'm with you."

"Zachy!!!" Another voice shouted out.

"Hi Caroline." I said with a smile as she hugged me. I heard Cole come in and they attacked him as well.

"Cole!" He smiled as he picked them both up.

"Well if isn't my two favorite princess." I nodded I was going upstairs and he smiled and nodded back.

I slowly got to the top of the stairs and heard my brother laughing. I walked past his room to see him on the phone. His face was bright red. I stood by the door waiting for him to notice me.

He looked up and his smile faltered. "Hey Madds I'll call you later." She said something that made him blush.

"Hey Alex."

"Well it's good you're not dead." He said with a laugh.

"Nice to see you too. And I see you got with that freshman?"

"Not yet. We're just friends."

"Just friends? Well use that Evens charm and you should be good."

"Well has that helped you at all?"

I frowned. "Kinda but she's pissed at me."

He rolled his eyes. "So you are together." He smirked "Cole needs to pay up."

I looked at him annoyed. "Did everyone make bets?"

He gave me a sheepish smile. "Maybe. Anyway you should go shower. You stink."

"Thanks."

"Anytime."

After my shower and picking out my clothes to wear I made my way downstairs to see Caroline playing with Cole's hair and Lilly was sitting in lap talking about stuffed animals and Cole looked humored as she told him their names.

I walked into the room and he grinned. "Well my two little potatoes. I must leave now."

They gave him a sad look and waved. "Bye Cole!" They turned and looked at me. "Bye Zachy."

"Bye little potatoes." I said with a smile.

We made our way outside and I walked to Cole's car and he drove us to the
party.

I walked in the first thing on my mind was Evie.

I needed to find her and apologize. I needed to tell her  I didn't mean it.

I looked around and searched. People came up to me saying how glad they were to see me alright.

And I gave them a half-hearted smile. And made small talk as quickly as I could.

I saw Joe smiling and pulled me over and introduced to me some girls but my mind wasn't in it right now. I needed to find her.

I needed to fix everything. I looked at Joe and he gave me a strange look. I walked off towards the bathroom. I made sure no one was around when I ran upstairs.

I didn't even knock when I walked into her room.

It was empty. There was evidence of her being there.

Where was she?

I looked around for any clue of where she had gone. I called her phone and heard it ring.

It was in her room.

She didn't want to be found and it made my heartbreak because it was my fault that she wasn't here.
