"Evie. Calm down." I took a deep breath. "In and out. In and out. okay now tell me what wrong."
"Zach has the bracelet. I think he's the mystery guy."
"Ooh! I knew it! I knew it! Zach and E.." I slapped my hand over mouth.
"Shut up! what if someone heard you."
"Evie. We are walking up the front stairs to your house. I doubt anyone is watching us. Anyway does he knows?"
"Oh no! Do you think he knows?" I yelled as we walked into the kitchen to see the 4 boys.
I froze and stared at him. Zachary, the mystery guy. The one I wanted but I could never have.
I slowly made my way to the fridge and grabbed a drink as I leaned against the door watching the scene unravel before us.
Joe gave me a confused look. "What were you talking about?" Nova and I exchanged glances. We were both shit liars. But maybe it'll work?
"Well. Nova and I. We.. Skipped a student council meeting and I was wondering if anyone noticed."
Seth and Cole chuckled as Joe glared at me and Zach scoffed. He knew I was lying.
"Your the president for the juniors Evie. People are going to notice." Zach spoke up with an annoyed tone. Well what crawled up his butt? "Why are you lying? If they had a council meeting I would have been told I'm the vice-president for the seniors remember?"
"Right." I said. How stupid was I? Obviously Zach would have been there. Shit now what. I looked at him as i thought of something that no one would know I was lying about. "Well we went to the frozen yogurt place and we took more toppings than we paid for and I was worried if they figured it out." I grinned. There was no way they would know now I hope.
"Oh. Well that's minor. It's not like you stole something." Zach said as his smile returned.
"Well what are you guys doing?" Nova asked.
Seth and Cole chuckled as Seth answered. "Zach, here is trying to find his princess. The only thing he has is a bracelet. Hey show the girls the bracelet." He took my bracelet out of his pocket and laid it on the table for us to see.
As Joe picked it up. "It looks so damn familiar. Doesn't it Evie?"
"No. Nope what no!" I've never seen that before." I stuttered. They all have me strange looks as I cringed. Way not to make it so obvious.
Zach narrows his eyes and looked at me suspiciously. "You saw it in math."
"Well that's the only time I've seen it. Hey I gotta go. Come on Nova!"
Nova sighed as she followed me. "Hope you find your mystery princess soon."
I pulled her upstairs as she lay on my bed. "You like him."
"What your point? We can't be together! Joe would be so against that. He would probably kill me and Zach!"
"Well the hearts wants what it wants." she hummed.
"Well right now, the heart as to wait for a while. Because as of right now my mind is in full overdrive on how to make sure that this all ends. And to make sure he gets over this."
"Ev.." Nova said softly. "Maybe it's best if you tell him. He should know and then you both can decide what's best."
"Nova, I don't think I can tell him. It just can't happen. He's been Joe's best friend since Kindergarten. He's a senior, those are the friendships you need to keep. And I don't want to be the reason it ends. I think the best thing for now is to let this all blow over."
Even if it does break my heart in the process this the best for everyone... Everyone that is except for me.
A/N: Evie is just thinks to much. If only she know Zach wanted to be with her too.
