2 days later I got a call from Joe who asked me to bring him some clean clothes and deodorant.

I brought it to the hospital and sat and waited with him for a bit as I stared at Zach.

His tan skin has dulled to a pale ghostly color. Tubes weaves in and out of his arms and bruises covered his face. I waited until Joe left the room to shower.

I held his hand and didn't say a word. And then I felt it.

The slight squeeze.

I looked up and saw a flutter of an eye as I watched him speechless. He opened his eyes and looked at me confused.

I heard the door open and I quickly pulled my hand away. Joe walk in and stared at me before realizing.

"He's awake?"

I nodded.

Joe looked at Zach and Zach looked back. "Joseph. What the hell am I doing here?"

"You had an accident Zach. Don't you remember?"

"Is that what happens to your arm? And a pink cast? Really how manly of you." He smirked and Joe laughed.

"Brings in all the ladies."

He simply glanced at me and looked confused. "Why is Evie here?"

"Because she was worried as well."

I nodded. He smiled. "Well don't I feel loved. Do I get a hug from you?"

I rolled my eyes as I walked out and called the nurse telling her Zach was awake. The nurse checked him and said she would be back in and hour of so with the doctor.

"She's still quite the ice princess."

"Forever and Always. That's my sister."

"Joey?"

"Hmm?"

"Did I ever figure out who my mystery princessa was?"

"Nice to see you have your priorities straight. But not yet."

I looked at them as Zach stared back at me with a knowing look in his eye. He smirked as if he remember then looked away.

"Oh Joe call the other idiots will you?"

Joe nodded as he left the room and went to the hallway.

"Mystery Princessa is in this room isn't she?"

I smiled as I sat next to his bed.

"Well this shouldn't be my first thought but.. I would really love to kiss you after all last time well was... Wonderful"

I gave him a grin and gave him a peck on the lips. "That wasn't a kiss. Come on. You know you missed me."

"Don't get too cocky Evens."

He smirked. "You'd still kiss me" he said as he pulled my body towards his and deepened the kiss. I finally pulled back and looked at him.

"What are we doing Zach?"

"Kissing. Quite well I might add."

"But are we going to be sneaking around corners, always watching for others or something?"

"Or something." And with that the door opened as Joe walked back in.

He told Zach news of how everyone should be there soon. I sat behind in the room just taking everything in. As everyone came and went I would look up and every so often he would catch my eye and smile.

And I thought maybe something would be better than nothing. As the saying goes it's better to have loved then to have had never loved at all.
