You have to tell him.. He'd understand...
But would he?
How exactly are you supposed to tell your best friend your in love with his little sister.
You don't.
When Joe showed up today with the boys I couldn't.
And I couldn't keep lying to Evie. I couldn't keep her hoping we'd be together. I'd be leaving for college in a few months and all we had was this school year. The day after graduation was when football camp started for Berkley.
And that was halfway across the country.
I knew we'd have to do something but being with Evie. Could I keep that?
God knows I love her. I had loved her toothy smiles when we were little. Her so called "awkward" stage in middle school. But she always looked beautiful to me.
I had seen Evie grow from a cutie to an absolute beauty.
And for some reason she loved me.
Even with all my flaws she loved me. And i wasn't doubting whether I loved her. I was doubting whether we could stand the distance. Sure I could come visit her but what about the year when she graduated?
She wouldn't go to school in California for me. She'd go to whatever college she felt suited her. And a girl like would have guys falling at her feet and I was worried.
With everything happening I knew I wouldn't forget her but would she forget me?
"Zach?"
"Huh?"
"Ahh there we go. You out of your daydream?"
"Yeah Seth. What's up?"
"Well the nurse said you could leave tonight and I was thinking to celebrate, party at Joe's? You wouldn't believe the amount of girls who have given me letters to give to you."
I chuckled. "Really? How many?"
"I burned them all."
"Why'd you do that?!" I said grabbing the water.
"Well I was thinking shouldn't give all your attention to your secret girlfriend?"
I chocked on the water and coughed. "What girlfriend?"
"The secret princessa? Cinderella?"
"Oh.. True but honestly I've given up on finding out who she is "
"Zachary Evens giving up? What's going on with you man?"
"I was thinking if she wants to say hidden so badly maybe there's a reason."
"So you've given up?" Seth said narrow his eyes. "Or have you found her and decided not to tell us?"
I let out a nervous chuckle. "I haven't found her bro. Chill! And about the party?"
"Oh well I was thinking maybe make it a masquerade theme and tell everyone to wear their clothes so you can find her."
"Are you serious?" I looked at him worriedly. "Seth. Give it rest."
"Zach before the accident you were hell bent on finding her. And I've got a feeling you've found her."
"Seth. Dude I haven't found her. I swear.." And then rushed in Evie who was on the phone and said three words I loved hearing her say but really wished she hadn't said in front of Seth
"Yes I love Zach." She looked up and I crumpled in defeat as she saw Seth.
"No idea huh?" He said with a victorious smirk.
"Oh shit. Nov I gotta call you back."
A/N: oh Evie.. Letting everything slip.
