38 - Stupid Love Triangle
Michael was stuck in this thoughts, like he tended to do once in a while. He held his own insecurities, like other people did. But when his came out, they proved to be destructive and dangerous.
He saw the dynamics of things shifting and he knew that it was no longer about him. Sure, it might sound selfish or wrong. But a part of him liked the three men's battle over him. It gave him a feeling of power and security that three men would do anything for him.
Now it wasn't about him anymore. He barely even got attention from Calum anymore ever since they had their night with Luke and after Calum had his night with Ashton.
But...it also felt right that Calum was accepting Luke and Ashton.
Michael was confused. And he was starting to feel unworthy, worthless.
Calum seemed to be happy with Luke and Ashton in their lives now. It was like a...relationship. He enjoyed being with and talking to Luke and Ashton.
When it came to Michael, he felt like the three of them only wanted to fuck him. He didn't get any of the lovey dovey stuff. This obviously didn't help his feeling of worthlessness.
And he hated being desperate and he hated that he needed reassurance. But he just did.
He needed Calum to profess his love to him. He needed Luke to make him laugh. He needed Ashton to tell him how much he wanted to hold his hand.
So that's how Michael ended up in the bar that started everything. He was sat in the same seat he was at when Ashton approached him and met him.
He wasn't paying attention to anything but his feelings and the drink in his hand, trying to become numb rather than in pain.
He hated when this happened. Whenever he felt upset, he'd be filled with insecurity, sadness, and anger. And he could just not control it, even if the people he desperately needed to help him tried to.
"Michael!" He heard, but he didn't make any move to look at the owner of the familiar voice, "What are you doing? You can't just disappear like that without telling me where you're going! We've been looking for you."
Michael finally looked behind him, seeing all three of them standing there. They looked mad that Michael left without telling Calum where he was. And that just started to make Michael more mad.
He wasn't a fragile flower. He knew how to take care of himself. They treated him like he was a breakable baby.
"I'm fine." He rolled his eyes, turning back around into his seat properly and taking another sip of his drink.
But he was harshly grabbed and pulled from his seat and into the back room they've found themselves in too many times already.
"Want to explain what the attitude is for?" Ashton glared harshly at him once he was done pulling Michael into the room.
"I don't have an attitude."
"Michael." Even Luke said, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing's fucking wrong, shit! What the fuck is wrong with you three? Why aren't you off running around holding each other's hands and dicks?"
"What?" Calum asked genuinely confused, not knowing where Michael was getting at.
"I don't want to be a part of this, so leave me alone."
He tried to leave the room and leave the three, but his arm was grabbed by Calum who wouldn't let him. He'd never let Michael go.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean..." Michael glared harshly between them, "I don't want any of you anymore! I don't want to be stuck in this stupid love triangle. Fuck! It's not even a fucking triangle. It's a whole-ass circle and I hate it. So you three can do whatever and whoever the fuck you want. I'm done! I don't want it."
"Are you...breaking up with us?" Luke asked.
"There is no breaking up with you, Luke! We're not even together. And neither are we, Ashton." Michael told them two harshly before looking at Calum, "And you...You're obviously happier with them than you ever were with me, so...just leave me alone."
"Oh no, Michael, beauty." Calum sighed out when he realized what was happening once he heard the last part. Michael's insecurities were coming out and they were attacking his mind.
"No, Calum, I don't want to hear it."
"Well you are going to hear it." He said seriously while the other two watched, "I love you, baby. I always have and I always will. I know that a lot has been happening, but my feelings for you will never change. Even if we have Luke and Ashton now too, that doesn't mean I love or like anyone over another. You're my world, my everything. I'd rather shoot myself than live a life without you."
Michael looked away and to the side, trying not to cry.
"We're going home. You're going to take a warm shower and get ready. And then the three of us are taking you out on a date. Understand?"
Michael silently nodded before he was pulled into a hug by Calum. He sighed out into his lover's chest, being feeling even more loved when he felt both Ashton and Luke hug him too.
