Well, this could've gone better

Ace looked at the boat for a moment before turning around. The whole thing looked like a giant whale, it was probably the intention of whatever shipwright built the thing as you could clearly see, a whale's head was the figurehead.

Ace needed to find a boat for himself now that he thinks about it. One that can endure the harsh waves and weather on the seas of the new world. He planned on going over to the grandline before ultimately sailing on new world waters though. Ace was a good navigator don't get him wrong, but Luffy would start in the East Blue if he recalled correctly. He should at least have some knowledge on the islands over in the grandline.

Some just don't give a shit, like Sabo for example he doesn't care about where he starts as long as he starts. He didn't get that chance the first time around. None of them did.

Ace quickly took a back alley so he could get closer to the docks. They don't know what he looks like, but they know a kid with black hair and freckles is a spirit, a dangerous one no less.

Ace looked up at the sky as he made his way through a busy street. It must be rush hour, tourists are passing through and the salesmen are screaming at the top of their lungs. Quite the lifestyle. Not one Ace would participate in though.

Ace frowned, the sky was dark but it was only midday. Was it really going to rain again? They were near the entrance of the New world, the weather there was always pretty rough. At the docks the few boats that occupied the spaces were few and far between nothing really caught his eye. Ace sighed he could steal a boat with people on it but it's more of a preference really. Ace, just simply would rather not.

Ace must have been too preoccupied as he heard someone scream beside him. He flinched at the sudden noise in his ear. Ace turned his head and looked at the man who screamed and. Oh. That makes a lot of sense.

And here Ace thought his luck was getting better. He should've known better shouldn't he?

The group of people started to back away from Ace before tourists were flocking to him.

In Ace's mind and anybody else, they'd think to get away from him, he's a spirit, they can you know kill you?  But tourists, are tourists and they don't follow the laws of common sense when it comes to something new.

And unfortunately, he's something new.

Spirits are rare, more rare to see out in the open, it would usually be the same case with Ace but he wants to sail the seas and the requirements for sailing means he has to be around people.

Ace jumped in the air while looking around. Too many people, Ace as his limits. Ace landed on the ground before running back towards the forest he expected the tourists or the hunters to just give it up but here they were both the hunters and tourists giving chase.

Ace frowned when he looked behind himself. He felt himself getting smaller, Ace shook his head before transforming. If he was something smaller or more agile, he could get away easier. Usually he'd pick something like a dog when it came to chases but cats just have better agility and flexibility. Ace would much rather give up speed for agility. Plus, cats are pretty fast too.

He heard yells behind him as he dodged different roots, some alive, some not. He took a quick glance behind him and felt himself inwardly groan. They were still behind him, he was gaining space between the group but nothing that would help him get away.

Ace thought about juking them in some way but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it. There are tigers, bears, mutations of the two in this forest. He'd rather get caught by people who would leave him alive than animals that would rip him to shreds without a second thought.

Ace tried to jump over a root but a stabbing in his shoulder made him trip over himself. Ace hissed in pain as he righted himself. He looked at the group they were getting too close for comfort. His shoulder can't handle this chase much longer. He ponded against the ground trying not to put much weight on his front paw.

He could feel a wind picking up, he was nearing the edge of the forest, not something that would particularly go well for him.

He looked behind him and saw one of the hunters just an arms length away. Ace felt a hiss bubble in his throat but suppressed it. Before he knew he was jumping from the edge of the forest and onto. "Oh no."

He looked down and saw Whitebeard's ship. Before Ace landed he looked to see if the hunters were still following him. One of them seemed to have fallen in the water though. Ace would have laughed had he been in any other situation, but he was going to land on a pirate ship of all things.

Ace landed on the ground, he winced at the sudden spike of pain in his shoulder. Ace limped slightly from the impact because of his shoulder but quickly regained his footing.

This was horrible timing.

He heard shouts from what he guessed were pirates. Someone looked over the railing looking at the hunter.

"Hey! Are you okay!?" The pirate yelled. Ace couldn't hear what the hunter said but the pirate frowned in response.

"Should we get one of the commanders?" He heard someone ask. "Let them finish the meeting." The pirate responded. The guy shrugged in response.

"He said he'd be fine." One of them snickered. Ace shook his head, now wasn't the time to listen. He looked around and saw a couple crates stacked up on each other. He could hide behind that in the meantime.
