Ace didn't know what to do. He was on very unfamiliar grounds. Not ground a ship, he was on a ship. Filled to the brim with pirates, probably strong ones too. Don't get him wrong, Ace is strong and could probably beat a majority of the men here, but not with this many pirates around to gang up on him.
He looked at the island he jumped from and he could tell it was getting farther away. Of course they were leaving at this time.
Didn't any of the pirates see him? Ace thought for a moment. You know what, they probably didn't. Ace laid down behind the crates, at least he has the things he would want with him. His hat more specifically.
"They said a spirit boarded our ship." Ace perked his head up. Looks like the hunter said something about him. "Well, I didn't see one." The other one hummed. "They can turn invisible can't they?" The other said with his arms crossed. The other nodded. "Yea I guess they can." He heard another one joining the conversation before one of them sat on one of the crates. "That's creepy, I don't want a spirit on the ship." Ace heard murmurs of agreement. "Well lucky for them I don't want to be here either." Ace thought with a grimace.
"Someone should probably tell the commanders while they are still all in one place." Ace thought for a moment. "Wasn't that Thatch guy a commander? Probably more than one then." He heard them walk away.
They were finishing their meeting when someone knocked on the door. Pops responded with a "Come in." Someone popped their head in before shuffling themselves.
"What is it, son?" Whitebeard said with a raised brow. "Ah, well. Someone chased a spirit on the ship." Thatch looked at them with a raised brow. "Well, I don't know if there actually is a spirit, but I thought we should tell you." The pirate dismissed himself before any of them could ask questions.
Marco frowned. "A spirit, yoi?" Thatch thought for a moment. "They said there was a spirit in the forest, going as far as putting a bounty on the thing." Namur frowned. "A bounty?" Thatch nodded. "They deemed the spirit dangerous." Jozu sighed "Well, then we might have an interesting couple of days if there is a spirit on board." Whitebeard laughed in response. "Things were getting awfully boring!" Marco sighed. "Better not hope for me to get rid of thing." Haruta nodded. "Me neither." He said while he crossed his arms.
"Well someone probably is going to have too." Vista said with a frown. "We'll decide when we get to it." Thatch said with a grin.
"When we go to get Izou he'll probably know what to do." Haruta said with a shrug. Marco raised an eyebrow but only shrugged in response. "Sure."
"Well if that's all then, I'll get going, yoi." Marco stood up and held the door open for Thatch who followed behind.
"A spirit with a bounty, yoi?" Thatch nodded in response. They had little knowledge about spirits, only the facts that are commonly known but they are also the facts that can be wrong.
"Can spirits go far from their birthplace?" Thatch said with a concerned frown. Marco thought for a moment before sighing. "I wouldn't know, yoi." Thatch nodded.
"Well I'm going to get started, I'll see you later." Thatch waved before going another direction. Marco went above deck and observed the surrounding men.
Marco sighed when he saw a pile of crates. They were supposed to move those below deck before they started sailing. The last thing anybody wants is a storm pushing the goods off deck.
Ace didn't know what to do. He really didn't.
He's been in many precarious situations, many of which hadn't even been his fault.
Ace looked up from his spot when he heard footsteps. That guy looked like the captain he was, really tall. His weapon, a Bisento as tall as he was.
What's with that dude's haircut. Ace looked at a blonde, actually he can make fun of the guy later he was coming toward him.
The blonde looked around before pointing at a group. "Bring these crates below deck, yoi." The men nodded. Ace felt his hackles rise, "really? My hiding spot of all places?"
Marco began moving the crates so they'd be easier to grab they were stacked onto each other kinda strangely.
Marco was about to continue when he stopped. A cat? Marco made eye contact before the cat bolted from the spot.
Ace looked at the blonde, the blonde looked rather confused. But decided, probably best to run. He heard yelling behind him when he turned around a corner.
Thatch looked up in confusion dinner had started 10 minutes ago, they couldn't be that rowdy already. Thatch grimaced. They definitely could.
Thatch stopped putting things away and walked into the galley. There was a cat.
There was something strange about the thing too. Usually when a stray cat is cornered it would make an effort to make itself look bigger. But this cat was not doing that it was actually making itself look smaller.
"Is this the spirit?" Thatch said with an amused grin. Haruta, who was covered in scratches scowled. "Most definitely a damn cat couldn't come close to my speed." Thatch laughed before nodding. "Well, it seems the spirit isn't objected to hurting anyone." Haruta gave Thatch a look "No way, I would have never guessed."
Ace didn't know how many people were on this ship but it was in fact too much. There had been a girl, well a guy who had tried to catch him, the guy was awfully fast and when he had managed to grab Ace's scruff he let all hell break loose with his claws. Getting the guy more than once making him let Ace go.
Ace turned his head towards the fast guy and his eyes caught a familiar pompadour. None of them probably wanted to hurt him and Ace's mind could register that but he wasn't about to be manhandled.
"Haruta don't be stupid!" Ace heard Thatch yell. Ace turned quickly and saw Haruta charging at him again. "We don't need anyone's eyes being gashed out!" Haruta yelled. He managed to grab the cat's tail before it could run away. The cat yelped before looking back at him.
Haruta was midair with the cat's tail still in grasp. Then without warning the cat's tail hardened turning a harsh black, well darker than what the cat already was. The cat's tail lost its fluff as a coating of armament Haki covered its tail. Haruta's eyes widened as he looked at the cat finally noticing the dark crimson of the cat's eyes.
Ace hadn't really meant any harm, but this Haruta guy, just pulled his tail, Ace hadn't felt that kind of humiliation since he met Luffy and Sabo.
Ace felt his body twist as he positioned himself to throw this Haruta guy on the ground. His observation screamed at him to turn around.
Instead of his original plan he forced Haruta to loosen his grip and twisted to face a now rather close Thatch. Ace pushed forward and landed on Thatch shoulder before watching as Haruta and Thatch collided with one another.
Thatch looked to his side from the ground as he watched the cat run into the kitchen.
"We just got bested by a cat." Thatch said with a sigh. Haruta shook his head as he stood up. "By a spirit, no wonder the thing has a bounty."
Thatch nodded. Though he couldn't shake the feeling that he met the cat before.
