I could tell Quan was pissed as his ex pushed his way into the apartment leaving a trail of snowy footprints behind him, while he was in the bathroom I looked at Quan who was on his phone texting someone, he was pushing the screen so hard that I was afraid it was going to crack. He was doing a good job of keeping his anger in check because if it had been me... I would've dragged his ass out of here but I could see he was fighting it. Quan never went into details about his past relationship, just that he caught him texting other dudes and sending that person videos. I was smart enough to put the pieces together though, the dude who was with Quan's brother earlier was the dude his ex was sending videos to, and if I were a betting man I would say that they were most likely fuckin. Maybe I'm overstepping my bounds here but I couldn't stand a messy person, and trust there is a huge difference between messy and honest, a messy person would expose someone for the drama of it while an honest person (like Flex) would call them out only when necessary, it was a fine line to walk but mature people could do it easily, whereas childish people struggled. A few minutes later he emerged from the bathroom wiping his hands on a paper towel, the look on Quan's face told me he was pissed and close to snapping... it was only a matter of when not if.
"Oooohhhh... it smells good up in here, what are you cooking?" Jace said walking into the kitchen, I had heard that name several times, and given the brief time, I did see him back in Chapter 104 and the annoyance on Quan's face I was able to put the pieces together.
"Aight Jace, you used the restroom now you can leave." Quan said still trying to keep his composure, Jace was set to make himself at home he was in the kitchen with a plate in his hand ready to dig into our food.
"Damn rudeness, I thought we were at least on better terms than this... You'd really deny me a meal because your friend is here."Jace said and I quickly turned my head, then scanned the room wondering who the fuck he was talking to.
"I'm not going to argue, I'm not going to yell... I'm just going to ask you to leave. I was nice enough to let you use the restroom even though I'm confused as to how you found my apartment but at this point, I really don't care... Please leave." Quan said and though his voice was even I could tell he was furious.
"You know what...." Jace said smirking, there was a brief second where he looked at the table and I could see it in his eyes, he was seriously contemplating flipping the table before he left but decided against it. "I hope you enjoy your night Quantavius." Jace said before walking out of the apartment and slamming the door behind him.
"Can I have a minute?" Quan asked before walking to the back of his apartment. I was conflicted, on one hand, I was impressed by how he handled the situation; he didn't show out or go off he simply stayed calm the entire time. On the other hand, I think I would've preferred if he went off, mainly because I couldn't.... this was our first date and it would've set a bad precedent for me to go off on his ex like I wanted to but he handled it way better than I would've.
"You good?" I asked when he walked back into the living room, Quan nodded and tried to smile but I could see he was still annoyed by what had just happened. "Look the way I see it you got two options; either sulk over what had just taken place and allow it to ruin our night OR we can pretend like it never happened and we can enjoy our night... Now, which do you wanna do?" I asked looking at him.
"That depends... does enjoying the rest of our night included a happy ending?" Quan asked smirking and I rolled my eyes. "Ayy I'm just saying, there's an old saying that goes 'the best way to clear your head it to receive some' I think I read it in 'The Art of War'." Quan said laughing.
"Well depending on how the rest of the night goes... who knows." I said winking before walking over to the table and sitting down, I could feel Quan watching me for a second before walking over to the door and locking it.
