I was more nervous than I had ever been as the car pulled into the parking lot, 50 yards away they were waiting. I stepped out of the car and noticed the nervous smile on Sir Michael's face as we made our way down to the beach, he was the first person I had ever introduced to my family and I wanted this to go perfectly. I had only taken a few steps before I froze, I probably would've stayed there if not for Sir Michael grabbing my hand and smiling, while I should have been the one putting him at ease... here he was reassuring me. We started walking and I could see my parents, sitting in lawn chairs; my dad was pouring my mom a drink while my mom stared daggers at my brother Ishan and talked to a group of girls who were openly admiring his muscular body. With each step my heart thundered louder and louder, and there was no turning back now... my dad had tapped my mom on the shoulder and nodded in my direction, Ishan looked over at us and his expression was hard to read.... Coming out to them hadn't been easy, but introducing them to my boyfriend was even more difficult. I took another step and something strange happened, it seemed like they were moving further away... ten feet, a hundred, and then.... they were gone. Suddenly the sky turned black and the water turned to blood... figures started crawling out of the water... Diante's dad, Tyree, and.... I sat up so fast that I got an instant headache, I was covered in sweat, and there was a chill creeping up my spine as Sir Michael walked into the room holding a plate of food.

"You aight?" Sir Michael asked placing the food on the dresser. "Another nightmare? Idris, you've been having them a lot lately, ever since...." To cut him off I started coughing loudly, to give it a little more umph I pointed to the bottle of water, to which Sir Michael quickly handed to me.

"Thanks and to answer your question, it wasn't a nightmare... Honestly, I don't even remember what my dream was.... I think I'm getting sick, and I blame you... since you insist on keeping the window open in the dead of winter." I said smiling.

"Idris... you're a piss poor liar. You know I'm not the type to pry, if you don't wanna talk then I'm not going to press you on it because I know you'll come to me when you're ready... but you need to talk to someone, anyone... I know Brittany Hills has the resources to get you a therapist but I'm telling you... holding everything in isn't healthy." Sir Michael said. "Actually, now that I think about it all y'all need therapy." Sir Michael said laughing.

"They've tried that, we had Life Coach Laura as Jace called here but ever since the new staff came in they've been pushing these Christian therapists on us and that's been going as well as you've expect." I said getting up and walking over to the food. "And don't think I didn't catch that jab you threw at my bros...." I said pushing him playfully.

"I'm just calling it like I see it, y'all all need help; you, Ron, Carter, Jace, Masai... Tay might be the only sane one but I'm a strong proponent of therapy... I talk to a therapist at least twice a month and it's really helped me deal with my abandonment issues." Sir Michael said shrugging. "Anyways, eat your food... I gotta make a few phone calls." He said kissing me before walking out of the room. I sat there barely eating, mainly because my mind was someplace else... it was on that night and the chaos that happened.....

Sir Michael stood over Tyree's dead body, smoke still billowing from his gun. There wasn't a doubt in my mind that he was dead... I was certain I was alive because the pain in my arm from when I pulled K'Lynn to the ground was all the proof I needed. Finally, I stood up and looked around K'Lynn was safe, Sir Michael was safe, and Kane (K'Lynn's dad) was safe.... But why did I feel like we weren't in the clear? Maybe it was the adrenaline that was pumping through my veins but something felt... off. The stillness of the night was interrupted by K'Lynn's screams as she saw her ex lying feet from her, at that same moment my phone rang and I needed any distraction to break this spell....
