One of the many things I respected about my mom is the fact that when she saw I was handling business, she left me alone... so seeing Big Dawg and Epic, she walked into the kitchen (though she definitely gave Epic a double look). Once she was gone I sat down and wondered why they were here, Big Dawg I could understand but Epic... I had only been in the city for a little under a year but I knew his reputation, some of his flunkies came into the shop every now and then and they always brought drama, the only reason I tolerated them was because they paid extremely well and it wasn't worth it to deny them service. Don't get it twisted, I feared no man but it was smarter to cut their hairs and not get involved in the street shyt, niggas were soft as fuck these days and the slightest hint of an insult could fuck up my entire business. I looked around the table for my blunt then I remembered Jace took it... so now I had to deal with these two with a hard dick and sober, I just hoped they weren't staying long because I didn't want Epic's drama being brought to my door. Big Dawg sat down and Epic remained standing... this dude could go on for hours if he wanted so hopefully he cut to the chase.

"So wassup? I'm assuming this is important because usually you don't make housecalls and you usually call before popping up..... please don't tell me this is bad news." I said sending a text to my weedman and asking him to pull up.

"I needed to speak to you about Brittany Hills...." Big Dawg said and I looked at him wondering if the rumor about Ronnie was starting to spread. "I think it would be best if Epic explained....." Big Dawg said.

"I'm a very connected man... I have sources all over the country, from one of my sources in Houston, I thought it would be wise to tell you that you should get Ronnie out of Brittany Hills for a few days...." Epic said cryptically. "Apparently one of the young men in the Seattle chapter was shot earlier today by someone in the staff.... needless to say Devin Cunningham is furious... he's been made aware of some of the changes and lets just say he's not trying to wait for the 'justice' system.... Get your brother out... It's not going to be pretty." Epic said and I nodded.

"I hear you...." It was a subtle warning but I knew they wouldn't be here if it wasn't serious. "What about the others? I mean the most I can house here is about two, there are twelve dudes, six girls, and that's not even counting the little kids.... if it's going to be as bad as y'all claim what about them?" I asked.

"Don't worry, I got that handled.... I have a close relationship with Idris and he's going to help me work out the details, in fact, I'm going to meet him now... Also I've found the perfect spot for our club, close to downtown, not too far from campus.... When you get the chance you and Luka should come see it." Big Dawg said and I nodded, I walked them to the door and watched as they got in Epic's car, I also noticed the three other cars that were strategically placed all up and down my street.

"What was that about Stefon?" My mom asked as I walked back into the house and locked the door behind me. You know how you know when your mom has been listening in on your conversations and then plays dumb like she wasn't listening? Yeah, that's exactly what I was experiencing right now.

"Just some business... so what are you doing here? I was under the impression that you didn't want to see me again after I blindsided you with that conversation with Ron?" I asked sitting down and smiling at the '10 mins' text from my weedman.

"Well you're my son, I'm allowed to be mad at you.... and I'm allowed to forgive you when I'm ready..... I thought I heard them say something about your brother....." My mom said and I fought back the urge to roll my eyes.

"My brother is also your son.... don't tell me you're finally starting to feel regret for the way that you've been treating him?" I asked, I loved my mama dearly but I knew she didn't do things unless it benefitted her.
