I decided to pull back a little on my Operation: Fuck This Nigga's World Up partly because Diante was getting suspicious that we kept running into each other but also because I was growing increasingly annoyed with K'Lynn's boyfriend and he was becoming a more immediate threat. That nigga Tyree was so damn disrespectful like it was getting so bad that I was about to check K'Lynn for not getting her dude together... I'm sorry but ain't no way in hell I'm going to let anyone I'm dating disrespect my parents, even if they were still alive because there are some lines that you just don't cross. So far it's happened twice in front of me and every time I go to say something K'Lynn stopped me so right now I was lowkey salty at her as well. Then there was the drama going on at the house, with Tay and Jace getting arrested Mrs. Grant felt the need to punish all of us which none of us paid her any attention, I stopped listening to her when she tried to preach about how I was getting fat and needed to go on a diet or something. While Big Mike tried to get them out the rest of us sat in the living room waiting for any news, that's when I noticed Masai sitting by himself deep in thought, we could talk in a minute but right now there was something I needed to do first.

"Ayy can we talk?" I asked Ronnie who was pacing around the living room, he nodded and followed me into the kitchen and I don't know why but I was slightly nervous because being locked up had taught me how to read people and I could tell by looking in his eyes that here was something bothering him and he had nothing to do with what was going on with Tay and Jace. "So uhh.... I was wondering, could I have Josiah's number?" I asked quietly.

"Uhh... yeah but can I ask why? Matter fact why don't you just walk across the street and talk to him?" Ronnie asked and I really didn't want to go into detail but I knew if I didn't give him something then more likely than not I would have to go over there.

"He's a little intimidating so I figured it would be easier for me to just text him to break the ice first, I don't wanna just roll up on him especially not in the middle of the night, especially when he's probably sleeping." I said shrugging, Ronnie looked at me for a second before pulling out his phone, once I got the number I walked off and sent a short text to Josiah.

"What the fuck happened?" Dejon said walking into the house and I was lowkey scared because every time I saw him he was always calm and measured in his tone but at this moment he seemed like.... let's just say I've seen some of his fights and he's probably the one person I knew in my heart I couldn't beat one on one.

"You aight?" I asked Masai who seemed out of it and he shook his head. "You wanna talk?" I asked and I was even more surprised when he nodded, so we walked out to by the pool and sat down. "So wassup?" I asked.

"I don't know just a lot is going on.... I know you've heard the rumors and shyt that's been flying around and I don't know if I have the temperament to deal with them and then there's the whole Lennox thing that just....." Masai said quietly.

"Let me guess you're conflicted about how you feel about that nigga... look there's nothing wrong with that, we're at a point in our lives where things are confusing and we're trying to figure out who we are as people. Here's the thing, y'all niggas grew up together, y'all tell each other pretty much everything, and from what you've told me there's no one on this planet that you trust more. You can't control who you fall in love with, there's not a single person on this planet that can.... so my thing is you need to talk with him since he's the only person who can help you figure out if you love him or if your IN love with him." I said and Masai shook his head.

"I can't be around him.... at least not alone because.... it's just complex." Masai said and started laughing. "What's so damn funny?" He asked getting mad and that shyt made me laugh a little harder.

"Bruh who are you talking to? The one girl on this planet that I'm in love with, is dating a bigger fuckboy than you, trust me if anyone in this house knows what you're going through it's me. K'Lynn is my Lennox... I tell her everything, she's been there my entire life and to me, she's my soulmate, but I know we're not ready for each other." I said trying not to think about K'lynn anymore than I already had because more likely than not it would drive me to find her boyfriend and beat his ass.

"You better be lucky I was up....." Josiah said walking into the backyard and Masai took that opportunity to get up and leave. "Aight so what did you want to talk about?" He asked taking Masai's empty seat.

"I heard you were the person to go to for information.... and I need some." I said pulling out some money and showing it to him. "So what can you tell me about Diante Richmond?" I asked quietly because Ronnie had walked into the backyard and began watching us, I knew he and Josiah had this connection that caused them to be extremely protective of each other.

"I don't need your money Idris... I deal in information so what do have to trade because the info I have on Diante is.... juicy." Josiah said and I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was telling the truth. "Hmm.... you know what, I like you Idris. You're different than everyone else in this group home so here's my offer, I know you were locked up for a while so in exchange for information on Diante I want stories... tell me some of the craziest things you saw while you were locked up and I'll tell you whatever you want."

"Idris, it's time for your friend to leave. You guys still have school tomorrow and I know how cranky you can get when you don't get any sleep." Mrs. Grant said walking into the backyard and I really didn't like her ass but I didn't feel like cussing her out because knowing her, I'd end up locked up with Tay and Jace.

"We'll talk tomorrow....." Josiah said getting up and walking around the side of the house and I looked over at Ronnie who was staring at the spot Josiah had disappeared, I knew trauma when I saw it and I could tell that what Ronnie and Josiah had been through was still affecting him.

"Bitch don't test my gangsta, I have a criminal record, I did ten the hard way and I even shanked a couple of bitches so try me if you want to Carter." Jace said the next morning at breakfast, I don't know what time they got back but if you listened to Jace then you'd think he did years instead of a few measly hours.

"All I asked was can you pass the syrup, calm down killer." Carter said shaking his head. "I don't know why we're even up this early, school is canceled for some emergency teachers meeting so I should probably still be sleeping or better yet I should be on my way to Xion's."

"Fuck it, I'll drop you off on my way to Antwan's." Ronnie said starting to get up but Big Mike, Ms. Gina, and Mrs. Grant all walked into the kitchen looking like they were up to something; we waited for them to say something but after a few seconds another woman walked in and everyone seemed to know her except me and Masai.

"Life Coach Laura! Where you been sis?" Jace asked and given the warm reaction, I could tell Jace liked her which put me at ease because he didn't like too many people.

"I've been helping Devin with something.... but since you guys don't have school today the staff figured it would be a good day to have one on ones with you all." The woman said and suddenly my opinion of her changed, I didn't trust psychiatrist, I had enough of dealing with them after my family was....

"I'll go first, I'm trying to get out of here as soon as possible... no offense." Ronnie said, me and Masai looked at each other not sure what to make of this woman but from the looks of it we really didn't have a choice in the matter. One by one everyone went in for their one-hour session with the woman Jace called Life Coach Laura; Ronnie, Carter, Tay, Jace, Masai until finally it was my turn.

"Idris, how are you adjusting to living here?" She asked jumping straight into it, but by this point in my life I was an expert in dealing with these types of people so I sat there in silence. After about two minutes of awkward silence she shrugged and turned on some music, so for the next fifty-eight minutes we listened to music before she finally stood up. "Next time you get to pick the music." She said smiling warmly but I just walked out without so much as a goodbye, I didn't need someone to analyze me and if this was one of the requirements to live here then maybe my stay would be shorter than anticipated. As I walked into the living room Josiah was sitting on the couch talking with Jace.

"Yeah and this bitch tried to steal my puddin.... but you know I wasn't having it, I beat that bitch with a lunch tray and did three weeks in the hole." Jace said shaking his head, I could tell Josiah wasn't buying what Jace was selling but honestly, I couldn't wait to hear what stories he came up with next.

"Idris are you ready to get into some thingz?" Josiah asked and I nodded, but before we walked over to the door Jace walked over to me and handed me a condom.

"Be careful, Josiah may be my good good Judy but the bitch doesn't have any walls and I would hate for you to get lost in there." Jace said and I just shook my head and walked out with Josiah, K'Lynn had texted me but she could wait right now this was more important because it looked like my timetable to deal with Diante had been moved up.........
