CHAPTER 15

It turns out I was right. I can easily stand for 5 minutes to brush my teeth. Still Edward and Derek won't leave me alone even for a minute. Overprotective bitches.

 I look at my reflection in the mirror; my skin all blotched up, a bandage on my head, puffy eyes. I look the worst. I can't wait to go back home. Edward and Derek are standing behind me, talking. I am so glad I have these two here or else I would have died of boredom.

I finish brushing my teeth and head back to the room, with both of them still tailing me. I lay back down on the bed and Derek hands me my soup from the table. It doesn't even look like soup but it sure does look like water with boiled vegetables. I sniff it and it smells really gross.

"I am not drinking, actually eating this shitty smelling soup."I say as I  eye it. Mushrooms, tomatoes, Broccoli. Gross.

 Edward gives me a stern look before speaking, "You have to, baby." I melt at his words and prepare myself to gulp everything. I fill one soup and bring it closer to my mouth. I don't know if I can do this. But I have to. I spill the contents in my mouth and to my surprise it isn't as disgusting as it smells.

I finish the whole thing in 5 minutes and hand the bowl to Derek. "Good girl." I give him a look of self satisfaction.

 Kate re-enters, "Did you drink your soup?" 

 "Yes I did Kate. I will take the medicines soon." I say because I knew that it was coming next. She smiles and nods. She places the tray with my medicines and a glass of water on the table and leaves.

"You guys can go and freshen up. I will be alright." Edward again looks at me like I have grown another head and Derek stares at me dumbfounded. 

"Are you insane? We are not leaving you alone for even a second. Derek you can go home for now. Come back by lunch time. I will leave then for my training."

 "Alright, that's perfect." Derek replies. 

"You guys, I feel like a burden." I sniffle.

 "Oh no, Candy. No need to feel like that. We are doing this because we want to not because we have to." I smile up at Derek and nod. Edward sits beside me and caresses my forehead just like he did yesterday.

Derek leaves after saying bye to us. "Once you are fine, I will take you on an official first date." I look at him in surprise and awe.  That came out of nowhere.

"You never asked me if I wanted to go with you." I say smirking at him. He laughs, which makes me lose my nerves.

 "Well, I know you're gonna say yes but okay. Charlotte, will you on a date with me?" He asks and kisses my hand.

"Over confidence can be a dangerous thing but yes, I will go on a date with you, Edward." His eyes light up at my response and I can't help but smile at him. It feels like my whole world crumbled due to this accident but on the other hand I have everything I could ask for and I couldn't be happier.

Edward, who is starting to feel like a major part of my life, is right in front of me, taking care of me even when my parents can't. A long lost best friend, who encourages me every day to do better. A brother who lives far away but still helps me in every way he can. A female bestie, who is complete opposite of me but is someone who knows me better than anyone else.

"Thank you so much Edward." I say as pooling my eyes threaten to fall.

 "What for baby?"  Edward asks as confusion pops onto his beautiful face. Yes, he is not handsome but beautiful? That might be God's personal record.

 I reply as happy tears drip off my face, "For coming in my life. I know relationships and commitment aren't your thing but because you know it is what I am looking for you're willing to take me out on an official date. I love how you're trying. I also wanna give my best to whatever this is."
