Mattheo Riddle POV

I heard footsteps and looked behind me. I see Snape walking away and I sigh.

"What?" Tom says.

"Snape heard us" he sighs.

"Doesn't matter. He won't believe anything anyway" I look at him confused.

"What do you mean?".

"While you were talking with Yn he made me clean the whole Great Hall and after we talked for a while. He said the same things that you said before so I don't think that he is gonna believe anything from what he heard" I sigh.

"Tell me what he said".

Tom's memories

"Everything's done there?".

"Yes".

"Good".

"Why did you make me clean the Great Hall, Severus? I'm not the reason that this battle took place and you know that".

"Weren't you?".

"What are you implying?".

"I think we have to discuss a few subjects, Riddle" Tom sighs and rests his back at the back of the chair. He keeps his stare at Snape.

"Subjects? Plural?".

"Maybe".

"Maybe or yes?".

"We will see".

"What's going on?".

"Weren't you responsible about this battle?".

"No".

"You weren't".

"Why would I? I had promised to Yn-"

"Don't involve Yn in this conversation".

"I had promised her to help her and I did".

"Don't involve her, Riddle".

"But I promised her. I wouldn't break the promise. I wouldn't put her life and my brother's life in danger for no fucking reason".

"Watch your language, Riddle" Tom sighs and closes his eyes in order to calm my nerves. He opens his eyes and looks at Snape again.

"Listen, Severus. I may be a Riddle but I have a heart. Okay? I wouldn't put their lives in danger. Not my brother's one at least. Let's not involve Yn. Yn is a different subject. I wouldn't risk my brother's life for anything. I care about him and I want him to be safe. Not running for his life".

"Why should I believe you, Riddle?".

"Because you know how much I care about Mattheo. You know me".

"That's the problem".

"What?".

"I know you but I don't".

"I can't understand".

"No one knows you that much, Riddle. Not even your brother. How should I know you?".

"What?".

"I don't know you at all. I know you only because you're my student".

"You don't need to know anything more about me".

"That's the reason that I had thoughts about you helping Voldemort".

"You're insane" Tom runs a hand through his hair. "I hated Voldemort. You know that really good. Know me or not, you know how much hate I had for him".
