Monica P.O.V

"Mom! I found her!" Roxanne said as we entered Emma's laboratory. An old room that was filled with weird tools, computers that barely worked, and other strange devices I had no name for.

Emma didn't even look up from her work, "That's great" she mumbled back too focused on her time machine.

I had no idea how she was able to see, with a barely glowing light bulb, even for my own eyes it was hard to see.

Roxanne let go of my hand and I took a tentative step forwards, admiring the time machine "Wow, Aunt Emma, Roxanne says you're almost done?" I asked quietly, she hates it when we speak loudly, she thinks if we speak quietly the vampires won't hear us.

But I don't have the heart to tell her that vampires are able to hear even our tiniest whisper, it's like they developed super sonic hearing.

I hate to admit it, but I know so much about those stupid vampires only because my dad told me about it.

You see, vampires didn't exist before, it's not like they were just hiding among us pretending to being normal humans.

No, they were created.

And you know what the say, everything that mankind creates is deadly and destructive.

About 5 months ago, Emma created the special helicopters that were able to travel at a very fast distance, and I mean fast!

It made her so famous all around the world. The helicopters were a huge successful hit, everyone wanted to buy one.

An old company that's always been in rivalry with Emma, got very jealous of her wealth and fame. The manager, Simon Hawking, wanted to create something that would beat Emma's helicopter.

He wanted fame and wealth also.

So he started to test the thing that most people want.

Youth.

What better way to make himself rich than by inventing a product that would make people look youthful?

He began to experiment on people, at least that's what my father told me. He used to work for him, but only as a far assistant so he didn't know all of the information.

But he said that the more Hawking tried the worse the results were, no one knows exactly what he did, but he created a vampire.

Not exactly like the ones from fairy tales and old horror books.

No, these are much much more worse!

They don't burn with the sun, or die with a stake in their heart. They have no effect at all to crosses, garlic, or silver.

No, these vampires that Hawking created are deadly. They're speed is beyond limits! You can't even see them when they run. Their senses developed at such an alarming rate.

They can see the littlest details, they hear sounds you wouldn't think were possible, and the worse? They smell things yards away from them.

Hunters, they're over developed hunters, or as I like to say, killers.

The vampire Hawking created killed him and escaped. He went loose in the city and was so in need for blood, I still remember, watching the news and learning about it.
