Now that the initial shock and joy of realizing that we had actually been able to travel back to the past was gone, all we could feel was the pain from the injuries we had.

"Roxanne we're going to have to go see someone," I chewed on my lip.

"You mean like a doctor?" she asked widening her eyes.

I nodded "We have to, I mean, look at your arm!" I winced by just looking at it.

She looked down at her arm and quickly looked away "It's really fucked up isn't it?" she asked taking deep breathes.

I didn't want to scare her so I just shrugged "It could've been worse, it's not that bad, but its definitely broken" I told her.

She eyed me "You got hurt too didn't you?" she asked.

"I don't think I broke any bones though,"

"What happened to your nose?" she asked.

"I guess I smashed it when we landed or something," I shrugged trying to ignore the pounding pain on my nose.

She sighed and looked down at herself "Well, I don't like the idea of going to a hospital, what would we pay with? We have no money. But my arm does hurt, a lot, and you're limping so you can't fool me and say you didn't brake any bones. But...we can't go walking around like this" she looked up at me.

I knew what she meant, we had multiple cuts all over, our clothes were torn and my front shirt was bloody from my nose. She had a broken arm, what were people going to think when they saw us walking around like this? Besides, our clothes were all dirty, our hair probably a mess, we most likely looked closer to Neanderthals than normal teenaged girls.

"People will think we got into a car accident" I mumbled.

She nodded "We did get into an accident, sort of" she looked over at the time machine.

I blinked tiredly "So what do you want to do?" I asked quietly. If I'm honest I had no idea where to begin! I mean, I knew where we were, I knew where our house was at, so we could easily go there.

But she had a point, I didn't want people seeing us and forcing us to go to a hospital. That was the last thing I wanted! I didn't want to waste time with a doctor when I could be spending it with my family.

Oh my family! I hadn't felt bubbles of excitement in such a long time! I yearned to see them again, oh to hug them! The thought made me feel anxious, I couldn't wait to see them!

"Maybe we should go at night, I mean, there is less people around the streets at night right?" Roxanne spoke up interrupting my thoughts.

I pouted "Night? You want to wait until night time?"

She looked around "Well the sun is setting, I don't think we'll have to wait long" she shrugged "Unless you want to go now?" she asked me, her face filling with worry.

I thought about it, "No, let's wait until night time comes, you're right, there's less people around in the streets" I said.

In the meantime I focused on fixing us up to keep myself busy, I tried to clean us up as much as I could, cleaned our minor wounds, the blood from my face, and I gave Roxanne my sweater so she could tie it around her broken arm. The color drained from her face when I moved it as gently as possible and I knew that we were definitely going to have to see someone to fix it.

We both sat far from the time machine in case it exploded more, and so we were able to stare down at the city, "Look Roxanne, home" I sighed, it had never looked more beautiful. With the sun barely setting, the city filled with cars, it looked precious.
