Another pic of Roxanne up top ^

That's it! I thought angrily, that's it I'm so done trying to get to know my father from this time, he's nothing but an ass and a jerk! I'm not even going to try anymore! I thought as I marched back to Uncle Joey.
I didn't even feel guilty for thinking of my father as an ass and a jerk, I loved my father, but man it was like this younger version of him was completely someone else!
I had no idea how he could be this way at this young age, he was so different from when he's older!
Literally, you would think they are two different people!
"Hey," Uncle Joey smiled at me "We're back" he said, obviously he had been hoping for things to go smoothly with dad and I, but too bad things didn't go as he planned.
"Yeah good thing, I'm done with shopping" I replied grabbing Roxanne's hand in mine, I needed her as a reminder to keep myself calm.
Uncle Joey stared at me probably wondering what was up with my attitude and as if he figured it out he slowly turned to dad with a frown, "What did you do?" he rolled his eyes.
Dad frowned back at him as he approached us "I didn't do anything," he stated pulling out his car keys "We're going home" he said not waiting for our answers.
Roxanne squeezed my hand "What happened?" she asked quietly as we walked behind dad.
"Nothing," I smiled for her "I can't wait to try on everything we bought!" I tried to say enthusiastically, but I guess I didn't too much of a good job because she eyed me worriedly.
Damn, I hated that she worried about me, it should be the other way around, I was the one who was supposed to worry about her.
"We got so many nice clothes didn't we Rox?" I asked her.
She nodded "Yes we did," she answered.
I smiled again "Thank you so much for everything Joey," I made sure to speak loud and clear so dad would hear that I was grateful only to Uncle Joey, because I knew that this had been his idea.
I also knew that if it was up to dad, he would rather have us wear plastic bags than come shop with us again.
"You're welcome Monica," he told me with a little sympathetic smile.
"Really, we're going to pay you back somehow, aren't we Rox?"
"Yes we are, thank you so much" she smiled gratefully at him.
Uncle Joey gave her a kind smile and rolled his eyes "You don't have to pay me back anything" he said wrapping his arm around her shoulder and pulling her to him, he gave her a little kiss on the forehead.
I smiled but deep down the action hurt, it was too cute that it hurt me. Uncle Joey had always been like that, such a warming person, even like this, young and at 17, he was still the same as he was when he's older.
I wished so badly that dad could be like that too, like how he was when he's older.
But no.
I wondered why?
Why was he like that? So reserved?
Was it because some girl broke his heart? Is that why he's so sour?
Or did it have something to do with the fact that grandpa wasn't around in this time? Was that it?
Maybe I would be able to ask Uncle Joey sometime soon.
