I watched worriedly how the color on dad's face wouldn't return, he looked so shocked, so deep in thought, and worst was he hadn't spoken at all yet.
I wondered if it had been a good idea to tell them that we were their daughters.
Of course Uncle Joey was taking this way more calmly than dad was, but then again, Uncle Joey was always like that.
So easy going, you could see that he actually believed everything we told him.
Dad however, was more serious, it was more difficult for me to read his emotions.
What was he thinking now?
He was definitely freaked out, no doubt about that!
Uncle Joey kept asking questions about the future but we were barely able to answer him, I was worried that if we told him too much then we would somehow mess up the time lines.
What if we told him something that made the future change?
"So let me get this straight, if I'm your father in the future, then does that mean that Emma is my wife?" he asked.
I groaned internally, he had caught on with everything!
Roxanne shot me a worried glance and I shrugged, it's not like we could lie to him, besides, what did it matter now? He knew too much already.
"Yes, Emma is your wife, she's the one that invented the helicopters and time machine," I replied.
"Wow, so my future wife is really smart then," he said more to himself I think, you could see the excitement and relief in his face, I think he was glad to know that in the future he wouldn't be alone.
"She was really brilliant," I mumbled sadly.
"And what do I work as in the future?" he asked excitedly.
I gulped again, if we told him then would he end up choosing another career?
"You're an architect," Roxanne answered him before I could stop her.
"Really?" he raised an eyebrow surprised.
"Yes, you really like to design buildings and complicated bridges, things like that" she told him quietly.
"Cool," he grinned obviously pleased that he had a job that was important, "So tell me, in the future, do we still live here?" he asked.
Damn it, were the questions not going to stop?
I began to grow nervous, the more we told him, the more possibilities of the future changing we created.
"I don't think we should tell you much," I spoke before Roxanne could answer him again "I mean, it might change the future or something, who knows" I said worriedly.
He frowned in disappointment "Come on, I have so many questions!" he protested.
"I know but it might be risky," I bit my lip.
"No it isn't" he pouted, I stared at him, he looked so much like Rox when he did that little pleading face. Especially now that he was this young, I could see the resemblance between them more.
