Monica P.O.V

It felt like such a luxury to sleep next to Roxanne again, to know that she was safe next to my side brought me comfort and I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

In fact, I was sleeping so peacefully that it took dad a couple of tries to shake me awake, "Ugh," I groaned covering my face with a pillow.

"Come on sleeping beauty, we got to go!" he shook me harder.

"Five more minutes," I pleaded tiredly, last night we hadn't come back from the fair until midnight, and from the way the room was still dark I could assume it was still dawn!

I heard him chuckle amused "Hey come on wake up, we have to pick up Emma and form a plan to stop Hawking" I heard him say.

"Let's do it later," I grumbled.

"We told Emma we'd pick her up early, come on she wants to get working on the machine as soon as possible," he shook me more.

"Ugh!" I groaned again "Fine! I'm up! If you would stop trying to dislocate my arms, I'd really appreciate it!" I said pushing his hands away from my arms. I heard him chuckle and he ruffled my hair "Come on hurry and get dressed," he said leaving the room.

I rubbed my tired eyes and looked at the clock, five in the morning! Ugh I cursed dad and his punctuality! I looked over at the sleeping form of Roxanne "Hey, Rox, wake up its time to go" I yawned shaking her too.

She stirred slightly and rolled over to face me "Time to go where?" she mumbled sleepily.

"We have to go pick up your mom and take her to the time machine so she can continue fixing it, come on" I said.

She blinked tiredly "Pick up my mom?" she repeated.

"Yes come on," I was in no mood to be repeating everything, I stood up and began to get dressed.

Roxanne sat up also and watched me from the bed "Monica do you think its a good idea?" she asked.

"What is?"

"Should I go with you guys? I mean....I haven't seen my mom in well...you know. And I don't know if its a good idea to go see her younger self, besides, you told me that she has no idea who we are right? She doesn't know that you're her niece and that I'm her daughter" she said.

"So?"

She bit her lip "So I don't know if I'll be able to pretend I don't know her," she whispered.

"You'll have to Rox, she can't know who we are, I mean, she'll only get freaked out and we cant afford her to stop working on the machine" I said gently.

She frowned at her hands "I don't think I'll be able to Monica," she continued "Its so hard to pretend with grandma, I don't think I'll possibly be-"

"So you want to stay?" I interrupted widening my eyes.

She looked up at me with big gray eyes "Should I?"

"Rox I thought you'd want to see your mom at least in this time," I said quietly it was too bad that once we returned she wouldn't get to see poor Aunt Emma, at least here she'd be able to see how she was when younger, "I know it'll be hard for you, but at least you'll get to say that you saw her younger self right? I mean, if I had the chance to see my mom..." I trialed off sadly.

She gave me a soft look and sighed "I know, you wouldn't even hesitate if you could see her. But the thing is Monica, I-I'm....not strong like you, I don't think I'll be able to keep myself from bursting up when I see her. What if I start bawling? What if I hug her? She'll think I'm weird! What will I say?" she rambled worriedly.
