A Merry Muppet Mash-Up

ACT 2: SCENE 5

The scene continues as the surprised toys, nursery characters, plus Clara and company hear a small voice speak up.

Small voice: "Please save us! Please!"

As everyone turns their heads, searching for the source of the voice, the fountain behind Clara and Marie bubbles up. They turn their attention to it and the falling water forms a curtain. Inside the waterfall curtain, the image of a cartoon fairy with snow-white hair, a frost-like robe, and crystal wings appears. In the background is a fierce blizzard.

Snowflake Fairy: [Pleads] "Please! Save our queen!"

Marie: [While everyone was too stunned to speak] "How?"

Snowflake Fairy: "If you're asking how my many, many, many brothers and sisters and I can talk to you? We're pooling all of our magic, which is very limited, to do this. If you mean how to save our queen? Do what you were doing be-"

The Snowflake Fairy is suddenly cut off as the water fountain's water is cut off. As everyone is slightly panicking, the fountain's statue speaks.

Fountain Statue: "You guys had better hurry if you're going to the Enchanted Snowflake Forest. Because the pipes just froze."

Pepe: "But what'll we do when we get there? That fairy didn't tell us."

Marie: "Technically she did, but we were cut off before she could explain in more detail."

Clara: "All she said was we should do what we all were doing before."

Marie: "Meaning?"

Clara: [Whistles the first line of Jingle Bells]

Walter/Nutcracker: "Are you saying that when we get to the gate of the Enchanted Snowflake Forest, we should sing?"

Clara: "It worked for Toyland; why not the Snowflake Forest?"

Walter/Nutcracker: "But will that really break Barnaby's spell?"

Before an argument could start, Kermit whistles loudly to get everyone's attention.

Kermit/Hoffmann: "Everybody, I've read and reread the script front to back several times." [Raises his hand when Walter, Clara, and the others are about to remind him that the script was burnt] "I know, I know, the Rat King burned it and we're all making things up as we go along. But the one thing that hasn't changed is that we have to defeat Barnaby and restore magic in all the Christmas realms at the same time." [As Toyland's citizens are all nodding in agreement, he turns to Clara] "What made you think singing Christmas carols would restore Toyland to how it was before?"

Clara: "I didn't. I just wanted to sing a song about Christmas bells."

Miss Piggy/Sugar Plum Fairy Queen: "No offense, but how do you know singing carols will restore the rest of the Christmas Realms?"

Clara: [Says with a faraway look in her eyes] "It's just a feeling I have." [Looks directly at everyone] "Barnaby hates Christmas and music more than anything. It would make sense that singing carols would break any spell he's cast on the realms."

Beau Blu: [Snaps his fingers and exclaims in realization] "That's why the first thing he did, when he took power, was ban all music, destroy every musical instrument, and make the Sheriff imprison anyone caught singing, humming, and/or whistling!"

Pepe: "Clara's plan it is then."

Marie: [Amidst the cheering crowd, she says to Clara] "It's been ages since we went caroling together."
