"Well, since my baby left me,
Well, I found a new place to dwell.
Well, it's down at the end of Lonely Street,
At Heartbreak Hotel,
Where I'll be, I'll be so lonely, baby.
Well, I'm so lonely,
I'll be so lonely, I could die.

Well, the bellhop's tears keep flowin',
And the desk clerk's dressed in black.
Well, they've been so long on Lonely Street,
Well, they'll never, they'll never look back,
And they get so, they get so lonely, baby.
Well, they are so lonely,
They're so lonely, they could die."

Elvis put his guitar back on its stand, before hearing the chord progression change.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, that was... energetic," smiled one of the representatives.

His colleague turned to him and gave him a stern look, turning him serious again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You ain't nothin' but a hound dog,
Snoopin' round my door.
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog,
Cryin' all the time,
Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit,
And you ain't no friend of mine."

Elvis walked over and grabbed his guitar again and put it back on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Colonel..." said a frustrated Singer executive. "Is 'Here Comes Santa Claus' next?"

"Absolutely..." stammered Parker, before leaving the room. "I see no reason why not."

"He's not in the swe... he's not even wearing the sweater."

Steve stifled a laugh.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, it's one for the money, two for the show,
Three to get ready, now go, Cat, go,
But don't you step on my blue suede shoes,
Well, you can do anything, but lay off of my blue suede shoes."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Colonel made his way down the staircase from the control room to the studio.

"Singing 'Hound Dog?'" he muttered, angrily. "What does that have to do with- with Christmas?!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, it's-a blue, blue, blue suede shoes, yeah.
Blue, blue, blue suede shoes, baby,
Blue, blue, blue suede shoes,
Blue, blue, blue suede shoes.
You can do anything, but lay off of my blue suede shoes."

As "Blue Suede Shoes" faded out, the crowd went wild once they heard "Jailhouse Rock" starting. Elvis handed his guitar to the stage manager, so it could be re-tuned.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Young man..." panted the Colonel, once he reached the stage doors. "You tell them it's time for 'Here Comes Santa Claus.' I said so. Now!"

"Alright. First positions!" said the stage executive, not obeying the Colonel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"The warden threw a party in the county jail
The prison band was there, and they began to wail
The band was jumpin', and the joint began to swing
You should've heard them knocked out jailbirds sing

Let's rock, alright
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock

Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock!
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock!
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock!
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock!"

Elvis got down on his knees in front of a few audience members, making them scream in excitement.

"Well, they were dancin'...
They were dancin'...
To the Jailhouse Rock, ha!
Alright!"

The crowd went ballistic over Elvis Presley's first live performance, since 1956. Even though the sign was flashing "APPLAUSE," it was like it wasn't even there!

"It's been a long time, Baby..." smiled Elvis. "A long time."

Elvis looked around and gave a huge smile, once he saw he'd gotten a standing ovation.
