Opening Night

LATER THAT NIGHT:

The TCB band (TCB stands for "Taking Care of Business), Cimorelli, the Sweet Inspirations, and the Imperials walked on stage, while the curtain was still down. Elvis was meant to walk on, once the curtain was up and the audience was there, so he was still backstage tuning his guitar.

Once all the seats were filled, Priscilla, Vernon, the Cimorelli parents, Cimorelli brothers, and Jerry Schilling all found their respective seats in the VIP section. Meanwhile, the Colonel was sitting with the owner of the hotel and Mayor Kohn. Everyone was waiting for the show to start. Then...

The lights went off...

Ronnie kicked things off with his drum solo...

Jerry and James came in with the bass guitar and electric guitar...

Glen came in on the piano...

The horns started playing...

The gold curtains went up, revealing the singing groups and the TCB band...

"Well, that's all right, mama,
That's all right with you.
That's all right, mama, just anyway you do,
Well, that's all right, that's all right.
That's all right now, mama, anyway you do.

Well, mama, she done told me,
Papa done told me, too.
'Son, that gal you're foolin' with, she ain't no good for you,'
But that's all right, that's all right.
That's all right now, mama, anyway you do.

I'm leavin' town, baby,
I'm leavin' town for sure.
Well, then you won't be bothered with me hangin' 'round your door,
But that's all right, that's all right.
That's all right now, mama, anyway you do.

Ah, da-da-dee, dee, dee-dee,
Dee, dee, dee-dee.
Dee, dee, dee-dee, dee-dee, dee,
That's all right, that's all right.
That's all right now, mama, anyway you do.

Well, that's all right now, mama, anyway you do."

"Ain't nobody gonna do a better show than that!" bragged the Colonel to Mayor Kohn. "I tell ya, if I was you, I would book him for a hundred years!"

"Well, no better time than the present," said Kohn. "But we hear Hulett has him doing a world tour."

"Well, well, well, uh, I think Mr. Presley could be persuaded to make the international his home, provided he was paid pretty well," smirked the Colonel, sinisterly.

"What did you have in mind?"

"For an attraction as tremendous as Mr. Presley..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I'd like to introduce to you a few people tonight, one of which being my beautiful wife, Priscilla," said Elvis, smiling, once the audience cheered for her. "Would you stand up, Honey?"

Priscilla blushed and stood up, blowing her husband a kiss. Elvis caught it and blew her a kiss right back.

"We love you, Priscilla!" shouted a fan, making Elvis smile and chuckle.

"My dear lifelong friends, the Cimorelli sisters are singing with me up here!"

The audience applauded for the girls.

"Cimorelli, we love you!" shouted another fan.

"And let's also hear it for the Cimorelli brothers and parents, who are in the audience!"

The audience cheered for the Cimorelli brothers and parents.

"Also, this man over here, I wouldn't be here without..." said Elvis, pointing up to where the Colonel was sitting. "My manager of many years, Colonel Sanders..." he said making the audience laugh. "Uh, Parker. Parker... Well, we're gonna do a new song for you tonight. It's called 'Suspicious Minds," he told the audience, before turning back to the band. "'Suspicious Minds,'" he told them, before taking a sip of water.

James started playing the intro riff, before the rest of the band joined in.
