Sunday morning is usually the morning that I let myself sleep in. Right now, I'm stuffed into a car trying to stay awake. According to Seth, driving early in the morning gives us an optimal amount of time on the mountain. I would agree with him, but I'm exhausted. How is he so awake right now? He looks ready to take on the world.

The sun is barely up and Jayden, Emi, Seth, and I are on our way to the cabin.

It's never been a terrible drive, but all four of us are anxious to get on the slopes. Jayden, Emi, and Seth showed up in my bedroom when it was still dark outside, ready to brave the frosty morning air.

Since we're in Jayden's car, he drove the first hour of the trip. Seth decided to drive the second hour in case Jayden wanted to go back to sleep.

I don't have anything to do until we unload the car.

Goodnight world!

I'm going back to bed.

A shoulder kept nudging me awake, and I knew those boney limbs anywhere, Emi was trying to wake me up. I opened my eyes and tears of happiness welled in my eyes.

This cabin has always been my happy place.

It's not the small cabin in the woods that everyone is afraid they'd be murdered at. It's magnificent. Nestled in the woods, it's detached from the rest of the resort cabins. Our families bought this cabin to use whenever we want. It's a part of the family now.

The design is picturesque.  Tremendous windows fill a majority of the second floor. During the winter, you wake up and see frost on the glass, and you look out into the pile of snow and ice near the lake.

Classic log-shaped panels were used for the architecture. The cabin stretches wide, rather than tall. When we were kids, we used to share rooms and have slumber parties every night. I'm almost sure that all the kids could've had their own room. However, I haven't been here in so long, I don't remember how many rooms are in here.

"Welcome to paradise!" Emi squealed, tugging me towards the cabin.

When we got inside, I was overwhelmed by how similar this place looked. Seriously, nothing about the interior had changed. If there's still a crack on one of the kitchen cabinets from when Devyn chased Emi and I around the kitchen with a hockey stick, then I'm going to scream from happiness.

Everything looks pristine.

Not a single throw pillow out of place or picture on the wall contained dust.

"Paradise is warm," I said.

"We don't believe in warm paradise," Seth grinned happily.

"This place is greater than I remember," I sighed contently.
