Startling awake,  my phone was ringing underneath my pillow.

I haven't jolted awake with that much aggression in a few months. When dad died, I started having the nightmares again. The nightmares first started when Devyn died. They stopped after a few years, but then started again when dad died. I thought I could live my life without frightening myself in my sleep. However, my brain has other ideas.

Walking into your sister's bedroom to find her dead on the floor would cause any normal person to have nightmares. Calling her an ambulance and holding her in my lap while crouched next to her body is traumatizing for any eleven year old kid.

"I better be winning the lottery if someone dares to call me right now," I muttered in a tired daze.

I'm a morning person. I love the morning. It's the greatest time of day.

Everyone knows this. Granted, the sun is not even out yet. It's currently still dark outside. What sick freak is awake right now?

There's no logic to what I'm doing. I'm engaging in conversation with this sick freak who is waking me up too early in the morning.

"Come on, Speedy," Jayden chirped. "We're burning daylight." He sounded perfectly content with being awake right now.

"JayJay?" I questioned.

My Jayden.

That sick freak is awake right now.

Wait a minute, he's not my Jayden.

Also, burning daylight? Daylight hasn't even started yet today.

"No one else should be calling you Speedy.  I'll raise hell," Jayden said.

My mouth gaped trying to wake up. "JayJay?"

"Get a move on Speedy. I'm outside your house," he said calmly.

"For what purpose?" I asked, not wanting to entertain this conversation.

"I told you not to make plans for Saturday," he answered.

"I thought you meant Saturday night," I mumbled. "Or at least not the ass crack of dawn on a Saturday."

I rubbed my eyes and lifted myself from my bed. My blinds were open during the night, so I checked outside and saw Jayden's BMW parked outside of my house.

He's really at my house.

"Dawn is your favorite time of day," Jayden added.

What time is it?

When is dawn? I know I'm an early bird, but this is excessive, even for me.

"I never specified a specific time frame of Saturday. My plan might be to kidnap you for the entire morning, day, and night," he chirped.
