"This is the greatest food I've ever eaten!" Xander moaned, stuffing his face with food.

"Easy, you're gonna choke!" Emi warned.

"Choking may be worth it," Ryan said,  through a full mouth. "This is delicious!"

Christian hunched forward protecting his plate from the others. "I'm in love! I don't know if I can eat anyone else's food after today."

"Don't let my Nonna hear you," I whispered. "She might just cook enough food for a lifetime."

Nonna grinned like the Cheshire Cat every time someone complimented her food. She had a big ego when it came to people praising her cooking. She used to give dirty looks to people, because they didn't tell her fast enough that her cooking was superior to others.

Most of my friends have been here for a few hours now.

It's only three o'clock in the afternoon, yet Nonna has been shuffling in food all day long. No one is going to have room in their stomach for the actual dinner.

When I was getting ready this morning, I wanted to put my best foot forward and look my best.

I put on black tights underneath my black skater skirt. Tucked into the skirt I had on a light pink knit sweater. Even though I'd be spending most of the day inside my own house, I put on my light pink converse sneakers to match my sweater.

Nearly everybody arrived within an hour of each other.

Sierra, Jasmine, Naomi, and Olivia came together. They were all bundles up in sweaters and jackets from the plummeting weather outside. With December creeping up on us, there's only colder temperatures in the near future.

The twins – Xander and Ryan – Cody, Christian, and Parker were some of the first people to arrive at my house. Thankfully, we've gotten closer and it wasn't awkward without Emi, Jayden, or Seth as a buffer.

Emi and Jayden came together from their house. They were followed by their parents who immediately went to the kitchen to spend the day with mom and Nonna. I suspected the four of them would be in the kitchen drinking wine.

"Has anyone heard from Seth yet?" I questioned, noticing he wasn't here yet.

"He texted that he was stopping at the coffee house on his way here," Jayden explained, checking his phone.

Normally, Jayden is Seth's personal driver. The two go everywhere together. I'm surprised that they didn't come here together in the first place.

"Why's he going there?" I asked.
