The third period of the hockey game is in full swing. Neither team has been spending too much time in the offensive zone. Players are flying through the neutral zone into the defensive zone. Everyone was trying to get the puck back into the neutral zone.

No matter how hard I try, I can't tear my eyes away from Jayden. Number 13. I know he can't see me. I also know that he isn't giving my stares a second thought.

Jayden is completely engrossed in the game. His intense focus couldn't be shifted if someone was trying to get his attention on or off the ice. His coach couldn't even get his attention.

I sat in the stands alone for the first two periods of the game. It was nostalgic being at a hockey game alone. When I was a kid, I went to Jayden's hockey practices and game alone because my dad would be behind the bench, and he didn't allow me to sit back there. Devyn wasn't interested in hockey. Emi would only comes to games when she wasn't busy with academics.

Emi and her friends came during the second period intermission. The five of them were busy working on some kind of law presentation that they will be giving on Monday morning. They got too invested in their work, and forgot all about the game.

They joined me in the stands after grabbing armfuls of candy, food, and drinks.

I don't care if I'm preparing for a meeting with the damn President of the United States, I'd never forget about Jayden's hockey game. No chance!

"We're up by one! Let's keep it that way!" Emi shouted, over the crowd.

I looked down and noticed Adam and Tatiana Russo sitting near the boards.

Cheers from the audience made it impossible to focus on the ice. I tried focusing on number 13 with all my heart, but everyone was moving at light speed. Skating across the ice with all the momentum left in their bodies.

"Come on, JayJay!" I screamed.

Less than a minute of game play remaining!

Our lead is completely solidified. The guys need to hold off the other team for one more minute. Our goalie needs to keep the puck out of the net for one more minute!

A lot can happen in a minute. We need to play unrelenting defense!

Eruptions of cheers continued as the clock was winding down.

Everyone stood on their feet as the puck was in our defensive zone. Seth is a defenseman, so he kept himself planted in front of the goal. He had his stick on the ground, diverting all shouts towards the boards.

A player from the opposing team shot the puck, but Seth deflected it wide. The puck came in contact with Seth's skate, and he launched it forward to clear the zone. Jayden gained control of the puck in the neutral zone.
