Chapter XXXIII: Salty Kisses

I came back to my senses and I pulled away.

David with his puffy lips looked at me in dazed and confused manner. I admit he looked adorable.

"We need to stop." I said I stood up to wash my face.

"Why?" He held my arm to stop me from walking away.

"Did you forget we are not alone? Our families are downstairs probably wondering what the hell happened!"

"Shit. Your dad and your brother is gonna kill me, why did you mention that we kissed??" David whisper yelled.

"Why did you kiss me? I pointed to my cheek!"

"I missed you and I didn't know the next time I would get to do that."

I just rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile.

"We will talk later, you just fix yourself up and go downstairs, I'll be down in a minute."

"Wait, you want to go down with your dad who is probably waiting to kill me??"

"David stop being dramatic and just go down already it has already been too long since we've been up."

"Fine." David fixed up his hair and hesitantly left my room.

I left my room and headed to the bathroom and squashed water on face.

"So?" I heard my dad say.

"I apologised, she's okay now she's coming down in a minute"

"Good."

I couldn't help but giggle.

We really did need to talk, I hope David didn't think this was the end of it everything and everything was back to normal because it wasn't. I was still pretty much in a relationship, I think? With Thiago. Nothing was official but I enjoyed spending with him, and it wasn't just going to change. I owed it to myself to explore this through, and it wouldn't be fair to Thiago either.

I patted my face dry and put some Nivea on my face, and massaged it in.

As I walked the stairs everyone stared at me. I couldn't help but feel a little self conscious, at least my lips weren't as puffy as before from the kissing.

"I'm sorry I overreacted and swore in front of everyone." I pulled the chair and sat down.

"That's okay." My dad pats my back.
"If there was any other problem you let me know right?" He says gives a death stare to David.

"Serious it is okay, relax dad."
The rest of dinner went off without a hitch.

They left after a few hours.

My dad was the one who escorted them out.

"Seriously darling, what was that about?" He said as he walked back to us.

I can't believe he wasn't letting this go.

"Karlos!" My mum yelled.

"What are you doing when we were away at work?"

"Karlos please, clearly nothing much if she reacted that way to him kissing her." My mum tried reasoning with him.

At that moment I wanted laugh. If only they knew for the past couple of weeks, every other day Thiago was blowing my back out ever other day since the summer break started at the end of November. Also, the stuff David and I used to do together.

"Exactly, and most of the time Kalum is there when we were together." I pointed over at Kalum to back me up.

"Yeah, it's pretty tame to me."
